are these customs expressed greetings with family friends, church leaders, politicians, everyone at work no matter where you are. Do you all that way no matter where you are... say you are in a public restroom or confessional etc.

A relic today, the first public pay telephone in the USA was installed and operated in 1889.

Makes me wonder what the incidence was catching a bug from using a public telephone.
