In some cases there is a triangle and some maneuvers that allow business people to import-export whatever. One president has not the power to direct/conduct or even stop trading yet making trading more expensive...who is going to pay for it?

Mexico and USA have a big trading but we do sell avocados and tomatoes , so they must be able to find them some place else or substitute for them.
We on the other hand, do import lots of goods from USA but most of them are made in China so, why not to buy them directly from China?
Ending an agreement is not ipso facto, it takes time just like Brexit, Paris Accord, etc. but it will most probably change if not because of Trump, because of the next elected president here, perhaps. Anyway 2018 is going to be a hot political year for Mexico -already is- and the future of NAFTA along with the energy reform might have a different turn....
