There is a sweet spread that I liked as a child called "cajeta" -caramel- it is made with goats' milk and sugar and lately I had it in my coffee and it was good.
I know how to make it and as a child at home we used to make our own chocolate and coffee from the raw beans but the chocolate that I get is made by my children's Grandma (my ex-mother in law but I make my children to taste it first )
It is not difficult to make chocolate yet it might not be easy to get the cocoa raw beans.
(a bit messy his method but that is the idea, also his cocoa raw beans are small and they usually are not the best quality and more time to peel them off)
Note: my children are grown ups but they will always be my children
Foreigners are welcome here also we do have important groups that live here and they keep to themselves and no one bothers them -many of them do not speak Spanish- like Mennonites, Jews, Chinese, Koreans, Japanese and even some native ethnic groups.
Hazelnuts are very expensive, so I would guess the content of this nut in the Nutella must be very low and the sugar very high.
I do avoid sugary-sweet things but I do like honey and for the chocolate I would have the homemade although lately the cocoa beans have being smaller and not of the best quality but I have asked a friend to bring me some cocoa beans from the south.
I suspect some stores are selling 'Robusta' instead of 'Arabica'.
....Arabica beans tend to have a sweeter, softer taste, with tones of sugar, fruit, and berries. Their acidity is higher, with that winey taste that characterizes coffee with excellent acidity.
Robusta, however, has a stronger, harsher taste, with a grain-like overtone and peanutty aftertaste. They contain twice as much caffeine as Arabica beans, and they are generally considered to be of inferior quality compared to Arabica.
When I see a new poster I would check their posting (under their picture: view threads and view posts ) and some would have their profile open a few years ago, make a post per year or so......then I would wonder...

A few days ago my daughter was making fig muffins, she combined chopped dry figs with some baking soda + water and simmer the mix and it was bubbling so I asked her what the reaction was (chemistry is thought in middle and high school but chemistry is not her major) so she said, it must be something like :
