My son went to the south of Mexico with his in-law family because his wife's paternal Grandad passed away before Christmas and they stayed there for almost 2 weeks and my daughter went to visit her paternal Grandpa and Grandma whom are 90+ y.o.

I am ok thank you just getting older since the end of last year because this is the first time I felt cold -eventhough I like cold weather- and I was not very excited about the Merry Christmas/New year celebration because my children were not around but we are going to celebrate every thing tomorrow as family.

I hope you had a good time even with out the plane

I take them too and mine are from an American Brand and I get them through Amazon yet i would like to get the fresh salmon right -a few meter- from my door step

USA has better regulations regarding to food safety and its content being accurate, so far.

There is a Peruvian Chef Virgilio, who believes that we should eat food that sometimes does not taste good but because it is good for our health. Well, I am a foodie but not that foodie

Studying/working on modeling not that kind but modeling to predict the risks of growing crops with climate data for local-regional use.

For the ones who need to boost their Omega intake and can not get marine protein of good quality and fair price, salmon oil pill are a good option and some brands state they are mercury free.

It is good to get info about the food we eat without getting into a fear-paranoid state.

If we could grow our own produce that would be optimum otherwise just check the origen of your food and above all enjoy your food.

so, i would go easy on smoked fish.

Canned food is not good either because of the estrogen-like substances that are released by the coating of the tins in the heating process.

I would avoid the canned food (in tins).
I do canning of fruits and veggies in glass containers and BPA-free lids.

Fresh food is better but check the origen as you have pointed about the farmed fish.

On the Omega oils, a friend of mine just told me that a practical way of testing the Omegas is: to place the pills in the freezer and it should not solidify if it is really a good Omega. I have not done it and i will check that info too.
