Where Did "Morals" Originate??

If I were to agree with your theory that it comes from within....would it be a fair statement to say then you think we are all born with this "sense" of right and wrong?

Like Fine Wine....

Ahhhh...but Dave its not the colour grey that gets my mojo going....its what that colour represents...the passage of time...the wisdom....the experience....the experience....oh! Did i say experience already??wink

Like Fine Wine....

not to those of us who aged like...well....Fine Wine!wine laugh

What Will You Overlook??

Since you asked Dave...

Am I willing to overlook that you are short/tall, balding/full head of hair...forgetful in your old age....need your "rest".....absolutely!

Do I want to "date" my computer?....have a "physical relationship" with my web cam....drive hundreds of miles to feel your arms around me?....
No...sorry....no can do

Like Fine Wine....

Curious to know who all have found that "older" men/women have an appeal that cannot be resisted....and why the sudden phenomenon...

Don't know when it exactly happened...but of late i find that men with grey hair and/or goatee really gets my "mojo" going...love grin

What Will You Overlook??

laugh

No Dave I didn't...but if you remember back...I very seldom ever did...wine

What Will You Overlook??

Thanks Dave...hug

Was talking to some of the friends i had on here and listening to what's been happening in the past several months that i was MIA...lol

What Will You Overlook??

Hi Dina...

No i wasn't...and i'm not sure what MPlayer is...

Hopefully that "someone" you liked??...

What Will You Overlook??

For those of us who are still in the "dating pool"...we have come to realize that the "perfect" person does not really exist....

But as well we have learned over time to "tolerate" certain behaviours that at one time we would not have accepted as a quality we want in our mate....(am i right here?)

What things do you find you will NOT compromise on? And what are some of the things you are willing to accept that at one time you would not have believed you would?

Where Did "Morals" Originate??

I was also thinking about that....based on my "what is atheism" thread...I'm wondering if the bible is fiction....then so are the 10 commandments....but then where did our "morals" for living originate if not from those commandments?

Anyone?

RE: Way to your heart !!

I don't think there is a "direct" path to my heart....or even a "map" existing....

Unfortunately i believe my heart is one of those "unexplored" territories for each person i meet, where there is alot of clearing of brush and debris to be done first before actually reaching that goal.....

Where Did "Morals" Originate??

I seriously doubt it....alot of things have originated in the Whitehouse....morals is not one of them i'm sure....wink

Where Did "Morals" Originate??

Just wondering where our sense of "justice" and our "morals" may have originated....

Any thoughts on this?

RE: the battle of forgiveness

I agree with Robert....

I have learned to "forgive" (I'm still working on the forget part)...but have come to realize that holding on to those "lessons" so that i don't repeat those mistakes create baggage i don't want to cart around with me....

I have been hurt by others...and i have forgiven them....and no i don't want to repeat those experiences...but moving on while holding on to those lessons causes me to become someone i am not....
Nor do i want someone i may meet in the future to pay for the hurt that someone else caused in my past....they do not deserve that because in fact they are choosing to love the "broken" person i am now...not the "whole" person i was 20 years ago....

I will approach each new situation as if it were my first...and i will put my all into it....the most i can hope for is that my past will somehow allow me to "handle" the new situation differently rather than handle the new person differently...

I hope this made sense....laugh

RE: the art of Flirting...

I have always been told that i am a "natural born flirt"...

It wasn't until i was an adult i realized what this meant...it is definitely an art i think...and it does take "discipline" to finesse that art...one tiny step "over" the line....and there is another "name" for what a woman is then...lol

Flirting does not become "serious"....flirting is flirting...and should not be confused with any other dating ritual...(for lack of a better word)

And flirting has nothing to do with "appearance"...it is an art..a skill...that one refines over time just like any other skill or art one would have and cultivate....a person does not have to be enamoured with the artist to have appreciated the work of art he/she has created....

RE: Do you love food?

Do I love food???....hmmm...guess it depends on what i was eating at the time....laugh wink kiss

Give Me Answers.....Oh Well...

How do you determine what you analyze and what you chalk up to life?

Brilliant or Underhanded??

Perhaps that is the reason for the "unrest" right now...as you so well put it being surrounded by people of that "calibre"...we are not followers..we are all leaders...but there can only be one "chief"....sigh

It just seems that the more we seem to get the store up and running to its full potential...the more the resentment is building....

Give Me Answers.....Oh Well...

I have to admit...I am one of those "why did that happen"...people...

I am constantly reading and researching...don't know if it prevents me from making the same mistake twice...but at least i'm better informed as to why it happen...laugh grin

Brilliant or Underhanded??

I have to agree with you...that is the way i see it...that she was being a brilliant manager....

The interpersonal skill and inate leadership qualities is questionable...to a degree i feel that the respect one gets as a manager she felt came with the title rather than her "earning" it...

You're right...i would not have cared to be "micro-managed"...I was hired to do a job...i'm doing it...and as long as we are seeing favourable results i want to be left to do my job....

Brilliant or Underhanded??

I don't think management team thinks she is "acknowleding" their contribution...and its unfortunate....

Give Me Answers.....Oh Well...

Would you say you are the type of person that tries to find answers and/or reasons for the occurances in your life...

Or are you content to just chalk them up to "life" and move on...

Brilliant or Underhanded??

Absolutely brilliant...i'll have to remember that one to tell them when i go in today....handshake cheers

Brilliant or Underhanded??

I myself have not been to disneyland in a couple of years....but i'm sure i'm tall enough to get on "the" ride....laugh devil

We are split down the middle at the store as to who is unhappy with this and who sees this as an "executive" move...

Some want to be acknowledged personally for their hard work, some are happy to be part of the "dream team"...

What exactly does "Atheist" mean?

Thanks handsome....my mom dubbed me with it many many years ago...and it stuck!grin

Brilliant or Underhanded??

I have just been recruited and hired by a large company here in Ontario (owned by the Disney Corp., so not a fly by night establishment)...
I was brought on board with several other new managers (some i have worked with in the past) to "clean house" at their largest store in North America....

The General Manager was brought from another one of their own branches in which she apparently made successful...but after working with her for a few weeks now...what i have noticed is that she doesn't actually "do" anything that i would consider "management", but rather surrounds herself with people she knows can "get the job done"....and at the end of the day she "shines"....

My question to you is....is what she is doing underhanded or a brilliant strategy on her part?

What exactly does "Atheist" mean?

Thank you for at least explaining the "why's" of your personal opinion....handshake

What exactly does "Atheist" mean?

I'll concede to having the comfortable couch....and alot of time....psycho analyze you?...ummm...perhaps another time....wink kiss

What does "Successful" mean to you?

Thank you...hug

What exactly does "Atheist" mean?

I really liked your answer....

I had this conversation with a group of university students...young people who had never left their classrooms per se and experienced "life"...they never had their views persecuted nor had to defend their beliefs...but was so sure they were right...lol

You are right, the older one gets, the more life (death and heartache thrown in there too) the more "open minded" they become...handshake
