LOL...well i guess that what i was thinking as i wrote the question is that sometimes we have our "life" mapped out...and that would be us choosing life...and deciding we are going to live it that way...good or bad...
But then sometimes life throws you a "curve ball" (is that the right term??)...and you realize at that moment no matter what you had mapped out "Life" has now chosen you..and its going to take you by the scruff of the neck and force you to "Live" it...
Since I put up the new picture of Clay and I, we both have received many "well wishes"...
For myself it has been from people that not only do i not know, but who has followed my "threads" and replies on the forums and I guess they feel they kind of "know" me...
As I had said before, him and I did not make a connection right away...some of it had to do with the "pre-requisites" that we both had on our profile (hence my thread about pre-requisites)..it took someone else who knew him, and followed my posts on the forums to suggest that we would make a good match....and she was right!!
The forum is a good tool to let people get to know "you" beyond what your profile says...it allows others to see how you think and what you feel...whether it be good or bad...as well as a way of making a connection in a more "familiar" way...we share each others joys and sorrows here....lend an ear and offer our advice....
How would you say being on the CS forum affected you...and what would you tell the members that are "watching" but not participating?
Well we can let them believe that....however the fact that we are drooling at the sight of chocolate...and our eyes have become like two beacons in our face...may tell him different....
We did have, very briefly, a female Prime Minister (Kim Campbell) unfortunately she did not pave any way for future women in that role...
As far as "intolerance" goes....it is so "forced" on us (my opinion) that one really has no choice but to accept the "changes"...it is probably the only stand that Canada does take...because we certainly don't take a stand in any other "world wide" debate...
And though we have accustomed ourself to being a "tolerant" nation, it does not mean that at the best of times it does not get "nauseating"....however...it is not the worse way to live either....
As a Canadian I have been following your US elections...and we have been discussing it on the Canadian Forum...
(And please correct me if i'm wrong) My understanding is that both Bill and Hilary Clinton will be running for office...as well as the very popular Barack Obama...
There is no need to say "who" you would vote for...but what "battles" to you see coming up if ANY of these people are voted into office??
A first "female" president?
A first "black" president?
Is America really able to handle that kind of publicity??
I think given the choices...the people would rather put Bill Clinton back into office than elect a "female" or "black" president...as Spagooch suggested she would be spending the majority of her time trying to battle the "boys club" mentality...but then Obama would be faced with the same type of thing...battling the reservations that would surely come as being the "first black" president....
I too will be watching the outcome of this...there will be backlash regardless of what decision is made...I don't see a win/win situation here at all...
I had a young lover for 6 years (he was almost 10 years younger than I) It was great while it lasted....I think i can honestly say its a stage one goes through....especially for women when you hit mid to late 30's...
Young men are either trying to "sow their wild oats"...and the older men are trying to recapture their youth...women of course are just trying to deal with our hormonal changes!!
I had been told so many times on both dating sites i was on by the men that i am not "long term" material...I am only worthy apparently of being their "fantasy" or "plaything"....I had almost begun to believe it...
Thankfully one person decided to look beyond that...and you know what he found?...A woman who is as loving and devoted as the next person...a shoulder he can lean on...an intelligent conversationalist, I also sulk, get upset over little things...my favorite outfit is my pajamas, I am not a financial burden, I have a job and a car, so i am dependant on no-one...and yes....I'm "all that" in the bedroom too!!!
So I guess as with all things....its a matter of timing...
I have "Google" on my desktop...I love Google...but i use it as a tool to support "my own" original thoughts and ideas...I use it to inform myself and research subjects that interest me...I thought that was what a "search engine" was for....
Though my kids use google for their homework, I still make them go to the library to research subjects for their assignments...you know...like in the good old days when you actually got up off your bum from sitting behind a computer and put your shoes and jacket on and (God Forbid!!) WALK to the library and have to walk up and down the aisles until you found the book you were looking for...you know...like put some actual effort into getting that information!!
Ajax (estimated 2006 population 90,000) is a town located in the Golden Horseshoe of south central Ontario, Canada.
Ajax is part of the Greater Toronto Area and the Regional Municipality of Durham. It is approximately 25 km east of Toronto on the shores of Lake Ontario and is bordered by the City of Pickering to the West and the Town of Whitby to the East
I happen to know our mayor Steve Parrish, and two members of Council, Scott Crawford and Joe Dickson (Scott attends the same church as i do).... It is also home to the Ajax Warriors soccer league and the Ajax United, female soccer league....my girls play for the Ajax Warriors soccer league.. The original occupants of Ajax were the men and women that served on the HMS Ajax..and the homes were called "war houses"...my first home here in Ajax was one of the original war homes... Rob Butler who played for the Toronto Blue Jays during their glory days has a "baseball academy" he runs...it happens to be across the street from where i live and i have had dinner with Rob...by the way ladies...he's still single... The only other "claim to fame" we have here in Ajax is that Sum41 originates here (the group), and Kim Phuc, who many will remember as the little girl running in the famous Vietnam War photo...
I guess by now you will have realized that Ajax is a very small town where everyone knows just about everyone (try being divorced in a place like this ) however..it is beautiful, I live close to lake Ontario and it has so far been a great place to raise my kids....and the best part....
Maybe thats why i only got to page 11 and put it down...figured i had "the secret" downpat and moved on to "Lamb" by Christopher Moore...which is hilarious by the way...but then all of Moore's books are of that genre....
Was just curious though if anyone else had gotten into that book and what their thoughts were...
Although having said that....it would suggest that you are on every dating, singles site in the country....how else would you "see" them there right???
Was having a look through that new book of Rhonda Byrne "THE SECRET"..
It seems to be based on the "law of attraction"...and not just physical attraction between men and women...but all things that you "attract" into your life..be it good or bad...
In theory what the author...as well as some other reknown scholars..are saying is that you as an individual have the power to have it all...or have nothing....based on what your mindset is...
You can "attract" wealth, happiness, good health etc just by merely thinking that way...at all times...just as you can "attract" bad fortune by thinking it into your life as well...
Not sure if i was able to make myself clear here as to what the book was about...but has anyone else read it or have any thoughts on what the theory of the book suggests??
Did You Choose Your Life...Or Did Life Choose You??
LOL...well i guess that what i was thinking as i wrote the question is that sometimes we have our "life" mapped out...and that would be us choosing life...and deciding we are going to live it that way...good or bad...But then sometimes life throws you a "curve ball" (is that the right term??)...and you realize at that moment no matter what you had mapped out "Life" has now chosen you..and its going to take you by the scruff of the neck and force you to "Live" it...
