Technology will continue to grow in leaps and bounds...there's no getting around that...and there will be people that take what is a good thing and use it for other purposes....

As Lorraine said, young children complicate things (mine are 9 & 12)..but adult children should not be an issue....cuz they should have their own lives to live by now....or at least one would hope so...

Even if i have known from the first meeting that "nothing" will come of it...I still stay and enjoy the time spent with someone new...
I have stepped into someone's life who has two teenaged daughters...
I am not trying to be their mom...just as i am not looking for a father figure for mine..both sets of children already have 2 parents....
But it almost seemed like second nature to extend my love to his daughters...as part and package of my feelings for him...it also helped that his daughters did not treat me like the "enemy" from the word go....and the fact that he gives his time equally to his daughters and myself....
I don't know if i would have answered this question the same when i originally posted it...but now from having experienced that...I can honestly say...that being a "mom" is not something you consciously work at...it just is what you are...whether to your own kids, someone else's kids....or the kids in the school yard....
Hey Bobby...it is the point that i am trying to make...that "googling" information is a very useful tool...its just that some people use the information to try and make themself appear more intelligent....when in truth the misuse of the information shows their lack of instead....
There are lots of people who encourage, inspire and lift me up when i'm down...there are those that give me pause to ponder insightful thoughts...and certainly those that contiuously make me laugh...
As far as relationships go...there is one couple who seems to have overcome a number of hurdles...they have remained steadfast regardless of all the issues we bring up in the sites...and for the most part have downplayed their efforts to overcome those issues and remain together...they are also the only couple i know to date that have remained together the longest...and that is
I am neither sad nor happy that he has left the site...it was a personal decision...however...I resent the fact that comments are made like the site does not offer any real good debates...
First of all, just about every thread ends up being a mud slinging...and of course everyone is more than welcome to start any thread they believe is debateable...
and secondly...it seems as if everyone wants to "take their toys and go home"..when a debate does not go their way...
The whole point of debates is to defend your view on a subject...and it can be done without getting personal...and sometimes you may even find that your own views may change because of the intelligent argument someone has given on their view...

I do agree as well Arthur...I said that to prevent "arguments"...it goes back to my original thought...if you have no idea of the concept of the information you are quoting...then you are just a "google idiot"...the rest of us can decipher the information....
Its like having a discussion with your computer...you are getting all the right answers...but its not necessarily making its point known...
It is a great tool for someone to use to become better informed about various subjects...and thats what it should be used for...but how informed is someone when they have no idea of how the answer they have googled and quoted was contrived...

That is what my "disclaimer" was for...the fact is it is a tool to be used to further educate and inform yourself on various subjects...
But as i said in my previous answer...someone continuously quoting others they have googled an answer for is not making their "own" point...they are just quoting famous sayings and riding on the wings of someone before them...

Being able to access and have every question imaginable reasonably answered is just awesome...it makes people so much more informed....

Just because you have information, and very educated accurate information at that....doesn't make you "knowledgeable"...especially if you still have no concept as to what that answer is all about...
I have seen many people on various forums "google" answers, and believe somehow that makes them "brilliant"...however if you are not able to further discuss your answer or break it down to "layman's terms"...in my opinion..it makes you a "google idiot"...
As well...you can hardly "google" information on a date...so how do you figure you will continue this brilliant conversation then???

For the past several years my kids have been my Valentines...and my mum always has a Valentines dinner at her house...this is the first year she will not have her valentine (my Dad passed away last march), and my first year in a long time that i actually do have a "valentine"...
Actually feels weird to be shopping for "valentines" stuff...and to top it off everything i buy for my girls i buy for his daughter too...makes me smile everytime i tell a store clerk...I'll take 3.. (cuz i have 3 doll babies now!!)
Thankfully Valentines is falling mid-week...so i will be with my Valentine one weekend, my daughters on valentines day, and my mum the following weekend....busy busy busy....
