It has without a doubt been a very interesting year for me here on CS...met so many wonderful people, made so many awesome friends...
laughed with them, cried with them....and loved them

I have viewed myself through their eyes, learned so much from them...and cherish the time they gave me.....

RE: Saddam

That is called patriotism....supporting the "leaders" WE choose and standing behind our country...however if one does not know WHAT they stand for it is definitely that much harder to "support"...

..."Mmmm now great. I am craving fajitas LOL"...

RE: Initiating Contact

I hate those "introductory" letters....sigh

I think i really mostly made first contact with men i've met here on the forums...and usually its based on something they may have said in their response....takes the pressure off i suppose...

RE: Are you willing to re-locate for a new partner?

..." I guess as we get closer to meeting our maker, we look for that soul-mate much more deeply"...

I too have heard this Bobby...I guess that with maturity comes the realization of our own mortalities...and the need to have that love...

Perhaps that is when decisions and priorities start to change...and resolutions to those question are made...

hug

RE: Saddam

My sentiments exactly...I think it was a huge mistake to hang this man...not because he didn't deserve it...but because it now opens up a "pandora's box"...sigh

RE: Are you willing to re-locate for a new partner?

Hey Bobby...when i first joined dating sites two years ago I walked into it thinking first of all this is going to be easy...just key in all my "prerequisites" and voila...instant match and happily ever after...do i need to say that is NOT how it works??sigh

I gave "long distance" relationships a shot...because remember we are ALL willing to do WHATEVER it takes to be with the one we "Love"....even if it means goint to the ends of the earth...do I need to say that is NOT how it always works out??sigh

Unless both people are willing to put 150% effort into making that relationship a reality (and i say 150 because for sure it takes more of your time and effort than a local relationship)...one usually ends up just "dating their computer"...

..."Was it really worth the time to meet and feel the love that is there, and relize the distance was a big determining factor in just ending it"....

I don't know the answer to that...blues I wish i did....

How Far Would You Go For Good Food??

Have you ever thought of maybe opening up a small concession stand in a mall or something then??grin

How Far Would You Go For Good Food??

Sometimes thats what makes the food taste even better...the "effort" you put into it to taste it....the anticipation...and the excitement of the "drive" there!!applause banana

How Far Would You Go For Good Food??

You are just plain naughty Ange....

Ummm...but yes the chef was cute...blushing

How Far Would You Go For Good Food??

Have you ever eaten something somewhere and it was the best you've ever tasted...and have returned there time and again just to eat it...though it is way far away from where you live??

How far would you go to eat the "best" food??

Myself personally, though Waterloo is 2 hours away from me, it has a place that makes the best pizza i have ever eaten (and i'm a pizza lover and have tried it from most places...even overseas!!)...and more recently I ate a mushroom, ham and pepper omelette there...smitten
To absolutely die for....looking forward to eating there again!!grin

RE: I'm the, uhh, new guy

Hi Welcome to the forums...enjoy!!cheers

Prerequisites....Good or Bad??

I think that everyone is mistaking what i am trying to get at here...
I have "prerequisites" on my profile - not a lot but some - and yes i do feel certain things need to be included on there because it alleviates wasting someone's time...smoking being one of them, or allergies to pets, or drinking/drug use...things of that nature

What i'm disagreeing with is someone saying that a certain body type is unacceptable to them, when they are then judging what the person is by the fact their body is a certain way...that just doesn't make sense...why can't the fact that their "body" is not attractive to you AFTER you have met them in person?

To me that would be like a woman putting on her profile that she prefers that men have/do not have chest hair...what difference will that make in the long run as to their personality?...but i do see how that may be a "turn off" when and if the time comes that you get to see that chest.....am i making clearer sense here?dunno

Prerequisites....Good or Bad??

Oh he finds me "something" all right Taf....however...CAN'T TOUCH THAT!!!dancing grin

Prerequisites....Good or Bad??

I am not being petty Burt....moping

grin wink

Prerequisites....Good or Bad??

I happen to partially disagree Mychelle...first i did say specifically to him and in my post here that i wanted to be just friends...again...as i said from reading his profile there were other things i found "attractive" about him and felt if nothing else he would make a great friend (I don't always meet people from the sites with the intention of setting up house with them and living happily ever after...roll eyes )

What i do agree with you is that we are different and special in our own way...but body types and hair can change, eye colour, skin colour cannot...however i don't see that those "preferences" will necessarily contribute to who we really are....smokers can also become non-smokers by the way...just as non smokers can become smokers...

All i'm saying is that shouldn't those things be left until you have met the person physically...as in David's case...though he professed to have "preferred" one thing...the fact is he has now found himself attracted to something else...I am just one case...how many other women have bypassed his profile because he preferred "slim/slender" women?

I am not attracted to long haired pierced to the gill men...however i did agree to meet with one...and you know what he has turned out to be one of the most genuine friends i have....I can talk to him about anything....and yes Mychelle I told him right from the get go that i was not attracted to his appearance...though i will give you he too is quite the handsome man...and no i do not have that on my profile...

Prerequisites....Good or Bad??

Guess I'm like "fine wine" then huh....I age well??...lol

Thank you! All my best for the new year!hug wine

Prerequisites....Good or Bad??

When you read someone's profile, and they are very specific in what they are looking for...do you find that a good thing or bad thing??

Let me outline a situation...

I had read someone's profile, he specifically said that he preferred slim/slender women...no problem but i would not be considered that by no stretch of the imagination...nor do i want to be....however I liked the rest of his profile and still contacted him...we became friends (which I said up front was all i wanted to be) we went out for drinks, and we've had a great time, he is as great a conversationalist as i thought he would be, he is a very attractive man and it was great to be in his company....here's the thing though...he would now like to have a relationship...and my answer has been...laugh scold

He has changed his mind about the "body type"...I on the other hand am not willing to let him forget that by stating his preference so boldly on his profile he may have forfeited the company of many wonderful women....as well, I refuse to put myself in a position where I would be constantly questioning my "body"...even if it is only in my mind...

I don't think there is anything wrong with having a preference, but i'm not sure that such things as height and body type, eye colour, hair colour...things of that nature, need to be specified....

Agree or Disagree...

Who Deserves It???

ok...how about this...

Step children who have been in the picture in the whole 40 years your parents have been married the amount of times you can count on one hand....and now feel they have a right to a share of "their" parent's belongings...

yes?..no?...

Who Deserves It??

Wikked man.....blushing

Who Deserves It??

Let me rephrase it as i only thought of the word after i had posted this (the word "deserve" was what was being used in the conversation)..do you think if your parents have assets it is "rightfully" yours at their passing??

Who Deserves It???

Let me just put it this way then (because i thought of the word after i wrote this)...if they have assets...do you then feel it is "rightfully" yours as their children to have?
