There's only one reason to tell a joke, to make someone laugh. Laughter is a form of attention, so the teller is seeking attention. We seek those things we feel we lack. There are exactly two types of joke tellers, they who seek to make those they want attention from like them, and they that seek to get even with them for not giving the desired attention automatically.

If she's cute but not too clever, I'd fake it, have a bit of fun, and make a lie to spare her feelings. She'll never know, because she's not to clever.
If she's clever but not too cute, I'd walk out. There's no point playing slip it and ship it with her, and and a long term relationship would be worse than pointless. You'd never get away with the cheating.

I've heard a civilization is measured by how it treats it's least disireable, but I would argue for it's least able to compete. There's nothing civilized about survival of the fittest. If we're going to play by those rules, lets play for real and stop charging me taxes.
I ain't fighting for some woman that thinks she wants someone else. I would spend that energy finding someone I didn't have to worry about running off with some other dude.
The internet is not magic. Odds are if you can't meet women offline, you can't meet them online. Often this is a case of not really trying. Maybe, try harder.
I agree Dru. I scan all introctory emails for off sight contact info. If I find it I don't bother reading the body of the email, and just hit the delete button.
The highest purpose this place can pursue is the connection of people. It's never been a strict on topic format, and never will be unless the mods make it one. At which time, I will be done here.
