I was working in a pub on the Airfield and mostly frequented by pilots, so more males than females, when a lady came and stood at the bar counter and dropped her handbag, spilling all the contents onto the floor. She seemed very flustered, so I came to her rescue saying "Oh don't worry, I drop mine in here all the time". I didn't live that down for a long time!
Oh yes I have the usual aches and pains too, as I'm sure we all have.
Thanks, I have met a couple of good friends on here, but not really expecting to meet my knight in shining armour on here, perhaps never, but it's great to have friends anyway. As they say, relationships come and go, but friends last forever!
I think if you look too hard, you never find anyone, it usually happens when and where you least expect it..... I think fate has a hand in it too.
Lol!!! You are funny! Well luckily I haven't reached that stage YET!! and hopefully never will!! First and foremost though, I have to find a partner, that always helps! lol
Oh yes the hotels are doing very well, it's becoming one of the top coastal holiday destinations in the UK. You're right actually, extremely busy during the summer holidays..... we get hundreds of thousands of visitors over that period, but out of season the B&Bs are probably less expensive and we have Premier Inns as well so there are plenty of special offers to be had. If you're ever thinking on coming to Bournemouth you could always send me an email on here and I could make enquiries for you with regard to accomodation!
Yes I know exactly what you mean, but it only takes about 2 hours by car from London to Bournemouth, not bad really, and quite a nice straight run.
It is worth being down here during the end of August bank holiday weekend, as we have a 4 day free Airshow with loads of other entertainment all along the beachfront and it's quite awesome!
Sailfree........ Your reply about scammers is exactly what I was about to post. I've been back on this site about 3 hours now and already received 2 scammers. It's hilarious really and actually, we don't even need much of a brain to spot them, they're so transparent.....just as well or they'd be getting away with murder!
Wow factor Yes I am fortunate to be living in such a beautiful part of the UK and only 4 mins walk away from the beach. London has it's charm and I love visiting it, but not sure I'd like to live there!
Thank you Mr L, nice to be welcomed and you're right it is a mad world on here, but entertaining nevertheless, or is it perhaps that I seriously need a bit more excitement in my life!! lol
Wow Malbarido!!!!! Each to their own I say, but the comments you give are totally embarrassing to say the least! lol
Where on earth do you get your information from? Tell you what, if you can prove to me there is no God...... I'll personally deliver a million pounds to you! Trouble is, you never could! Quite a safe bet I would say! lol
Brick in the Wall and Learning to Fly, my favourites!
I worked in the bar Pilot's Pals on the Biggin Hill Airfield for 5 years, and one of our regulars, a retired Air Traffic Controller Grant Dempster, at Biggin always told the story of how he featured very briefly on the song 'Learning to Fly', though never did receive any royalities, as it was not supposed to have happened. If you listen very carefully, you will just about hear his voice talking from the Tower when they recorded part of Learning to Fly!
Mike Winninck, who drank often at Pilot's Pals, but who sadly passed away last December, taught both Dave Gilmore and the drummer to fly from Biggin Hill.
They both went on to buy a light aircraft shortly after they got their licences.
Chris: Oh so you were demonstrating against the monarchy? Didn't make much difference then did it?, don't know why you bothered!!! It is here to stay, so get used to it!
The Brits aren't as stupid as you are indirectly insinuating....... it is not that easy to hypnotize millions and pull the wool over their eyes , one or two people maybe, but we do have brains you know, we can work things out for ourselves thank you!
We love the Monarchy, may it be here to stay, and continue to bring in millions of tourists from all over the world each year. Thanks also for the wonderful work they do for charitable causes.
It was a wonderful wedding of two people in love and who in incidently do a hell of a lot for charity..... what has happened to you all, very few these days have much interest in romance, can't think why they're on a site looking for love!!!! doesn't make sense!
I wish them all the best, they've certainly captured the hearts of the people in Britain and many other parts of the world I should think too!
As for hypnotizing the public Chris? What a shallow and bitter statement!!! I think that was a beautiful and generous gesture asking the guests to donate to charities instead of sending wedding gifts!
Oh it is far more expensive in the long run, eating out, that's for sure. You can eat healthily and more cheaply if you cook for yourself, and you never need to spend more that a half an hour on any one meal, even a roast..... check out Jamie Olivier's half hour meals, there's a book out. I very seldom spend more than about 15 mins on a meal... eg. steak and vegetables or salads, probably the quickest meal to make.... and quite simple.
Embarassing Moments!
