Forum detractors

What I don't like L1977C is that once you post a thread, the respondents tend to go off the subject matter and play to their own agenda, which has nothing to do with the original question or proposition.

People wearing glasses in the profile picture?

To Ladybee42,

I shoot from the hip my dear, and I do not use indirect language as it will always cause confusion. And I am not looking to appease anyone.

Forum detractors

There seems to be a huge amout of detractors and spin doctors on here. There are very good at contradicting people who post threads, but rarely if ever post any themselves for fear of getting a taste of their own medicine! scold

People wearing glasses in the profile picture?

Yes, PASSION8MAN you are right and I have changed the photograph. It's a bit dull I admit. But that has absolutely nothing to do with with my point I am making about people trying desperately to conceal themselves.

Stick to the point!

Sorry to strongSilentType.

I obviously mean dark glasses of course, I think I had an emoticon with dark glasses to that effect.

I find your crib a little excessive!

People wearing glasses in the profile picture?

There seems to be a ever-increasing number of people wearing glasses on their profile pictures. I think they should be rated as very poor quality photographs, and there are others that are so far back from the camera when they are taken, that anybody looking at their profiles can barely see them. cool

If you add up all the people without photographs and the people who wear glasses or cover their face substantially, then it is easy to appreciate how hard it is to date anyone on dating sites. How can people expect other people to be open, when they are closed or ajar themselves?

Married persons on dating sites?

Should married persons be allowed on a dating site? After all they are married, as stated on their profile in some cases.

Some American sites do not allow "Married status" on their sites?

Dating sites and timewasters?

To skinnyminnypink.

Dating sites are dating sites—Bebo is Bebo. I think there is a difference.

If people are on here to banter only, then that is as far as it will go if that is all they want to do.

The more information we have about a person including their photo the better I think.

The lack of photos on Irish dating sites.

Thank you for your reply. I wonder is it stigma or is it sheer igorance. Time perhaps for the Irish to come out of the box?

The lack of photos on Irish dating sites.

There appears to be a much lower percentage of Irish profiles with photographs. Nowhere in the world would you find this type of shyness; it is no better than one photograph for every four to five without an image on most Irish sites, or sites that carry Irish profiles.

The social ineptitude is staggering, even though some of these people are well in to their thirties or older.

Jesus guys come on—there is hardly anybody who will mail you with out a photo thesedays!

Dating sites and timewasters?

The dating site world seems to be full of timewasters who post their profile for years on end. (If you been away from a site for a long time and come back after years, the same old gang are there.)

However, despite the tens of thousands who are on these sites, they never seem to move on.

There is also confusion I think between social networking sites for people who want to go gagging, and dating sites that really should only be about dating.

On some sites you can find thousands of gossiping people who are just there to hack out various issues, even though they actually pay on some sites for the priviledge.

And one final point: The amount of people giving out rude sarcastic remarks when mailed has sky rocketed. There are a dwindling number of people who are civilised as opposed to those who have 'issues' and tell very serious lies on their profiles!
