I thinik this mudslinging reveals the true character of those choosing to be our next leader or representative in governement issues....it shows they have no real concept or plan on the real issues or how to improve the plight of America so they go with whats left.... mudslinging.
In short this is how our choices over the pass 30 years have run for office.
sometimes... just sometimes people come on here too thin-skinned and for what ever reason take the words of complete strangers too damn seriously.
I am a firm believer that some that come on here with a soap box crying out "Woe is Me!"is a ploy for attention devious players.
Steve who ever you are, dude of it was not a friend or confidant that betrayed you....IGNORE that persons statement and any of their future responses.
Hollandgirl you stated "brothers keeper" well my definition of that term covers way more then just providing a shoulder to cry on. being my brothers keeper sometimes requires "tough love" and yes brutal honesty and many times offering no pity at all. Its always less time consumingand less personal sacrifice to give a fish to a hungry person then taking the time to teach them to fish themselves.
yeah Brothers Keepers covers way more then offering mere words of sympathy.
my apologizes, but I see no reason to hold the next president liable or accountable for what/will is occur... the legislative branch on the other hand is a different matter altogether.
Maybe "because of our congress and 20 year terms the word "experience" has taken on a NEW MEANING
I always find it humorus that people will move heaven and earth, work doubles, and sell possessions, sacrifice friends to marry someone, but lack the same zeal and conviction to dissolve the marriage.
this idea has merit but i think it could be better for all concerned if maybe a Icon next to the posters name indicating married, single not looking or single.... hell I think an icon that indicates if one is merely spearated would be great too.
even in my neighborhood i do not exclude others from conversations based on their relationship status. but my choice of phrases or words do change accordingly.
I disagree, what should matter most is if they are upfront and honest about their situation. maybe a little icon next to their name to remind others that they are married. I know i do not check out everyones profile when talking with them.
Developing a relationship does not come easy to everyone. I think its a good thing to have them (the honest ones) here if for nothing else then to get their perspective on daily trials and tribulations when trying to understand or search for a significant other.
lets face it, as most previous election they all made promises to the American citizens, But what if we could have a way of learning if they themselves thought what they promised was possible?
a debate is a battle of words, my problem is the lies and spins they spoke of each others voting record.
I am still an undecided, They both misrepresented each other on national TV to all the voters of America and not get questioned or reprimanded for it... we need to ask ourselves what will they misrepresent to us once in office.
wheres the honesty factor with these guys.
name calling, lack of formal respect and innuendos are one thing, knowingly lying about the other is another.
To a 2-L jacketed round reactor vessel (reactor #1) with an overall heat transfer coefficient of about 100 Btu/F-ft2-hr, add ingredients 1, 2 and 3 with constant agitation. In a second 2-L reactor vessel with a radial flow impeller operating at 100 rpm, add ingredients 4, 5, 6, and 7 until the mixture is homogenous.
To reactor #2, add ingredient 8, followed by three equal volumes of the homogenous mixture in reactor #1. Additionally, add ingredient 9 and 10 slowly, with constant agitation.
Care must be taken at this point in the reaction to control any temperature rise that may be the result of an exothermic reaction.
Using a screw extrude attached to a #4 nodulizer, place the mixture piece-meal on a 316SS sheet (300 x 600 mm). Heat in a 460K oven for a period of time that is in agreement with Frank & Johnston's first order rate expression (see JACOS, 21, 55), or until golden brown. Once the reaction is complete, place the sheet on a 25C heat-transfer table, allowing the product to come to equilibrium.
I haven't done all the math on this but it surely sounds good compared to reading my stock/money market report this month! Something to think about.
I'm against the $700 billion bailout of Wall Street. Instead, I'm in favor of giving $700,000,000,000 to America in a We Deserve It Dividend. To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200 million bonafide U.S. Citizens aged 18+.
Our population is about 301 million +/- counting every man, woman and child. So 200 million might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up. So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $700 billon that equals $3.5 million. My plan is to give $3.5 million to every person 18+ as a We Deserve It Dividend.
Of course, it would not be tax free. So let's assume a tax rate of 30 percent. Every individual 18+ would then have to pay $1.05 million in taxes. That sends $210 billion right back to Uncle Sam. But it means that every adult 18+ has $2.49 million left in their pocket. A husband and wife would have $4.98 million.
What would you do with nearly $5 million after taxes for your family?
Pay off your mortgage - housing crisis solved. and Repay college loans - what a great boost to new grads. and Put away money for your kids' college - it'll be there. and Save in a bank - create money to loan to entrepreneurs. and Buy a new (high mileage!) car - create manufacturing jobs. and Invest in the market - capital drives growth. and Pay for your parent's medical insurance - everyone's health care will instantly improve. and Have plenty of money left go go out to dinner every night, creating lots of new jobs for those poor kids that aren't quite 18.
Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces. If we're going to re-distribute wealth let's really do it -- instead of trickling out a puny $1000 ("vote buy") economic incentive that is being proposed by one of our candidates for President.
If we're going to do an $700 billion bailout, let's bail out every adult U S Citizen 18+!
We deserve it and Wall Street and its regulators doesn't.
Sure it's a crazy idea that can "never work." But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party! How do you spell Economic Boom?
I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $700 Billion We Deserve It Dividend more than I do the geniuses at AIG or Washington Mutual. And remember, this plan only really costs $490 Billion because $210 Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.
Ahhh...I feel so much better getting that off my chest.
PS: Feel free to pass this along to your pals as it's either good for a laugh or a tear or a very sobering thought on how to best use $700 Billion!!
Heres the Punchline on all this folks
OK, now that that fantasy is done, let's start at the very top with what the lady says: "I haven't done all the math on this but it surely sounds good." The key there is he hasn't done the math. $700 billion distributed to 200 million people doesn't give them $3.5 million each, it gives them $3,500 each. Big, big difference! You can certainly argue that citizens would do better things with that money than Wall Street, but let's start the argument with correct figures!
I suppose if I changed my lifestyle... eat oatmeal for breakfast, beans and cornbread for dinner and adjusted my life to drink only tap water I could make it a year....who am I kidding, drink only tap water... the beans and cornbread alone daily would reduce my social life
Is this the next threat that the wall street fiasco will promote?
Are our elected officials so worried about being re-elected thqt they would pass most anything to keep their cushy jobs? and get home to shake hands and kiss babies and make more promises to their constituents.
If I was to receive the Ax today I can last until January... if I canceled Christmas.
