it's amazing; these individual fish, as far as we know, aren't engaging in conscious communication, and no one leader can be identified. and yet, each one participates in harmony with the others. sometimes they manage to dart away from the massive, hungry whale. sometimes the whole lot of them turn and swim straight into the killer whale's mouth.
that's us right now, and i don't think there's anything we can do about it.
