RE: What do you REALLY want to say to someone??????

I guess I shouldn't complain......but I'm going to cause I can!!

I'm so tired of this long never ending chilly spring! It's supose to be Summer for Pete's sake! We've had a couple days of warm weather and that's about it. Still not warm enough to go swimming! very mad blues mumbling I'm getting fed up! I feel like we're only gonna have about a month of warm weather for summer! I bet August is gonna be a scorcher! uh oh But at least by then I'll be able to swim! grin applause applause

RE: What are you listening to?

Oh just a 1000 or so!

RE: What are you listening to?

confused

Yeah, I could take up guitar.....just don't know when! I'll put it on the bucket list!

RE: What are you listening to?

Hey Suzie sounds pretty cool! Haven't really heard of her. Female rockers I like are Joan Jett, Pat Benatar, Ann Wilson, and Blondie. There aren't too many good female rockers today. Maybe Avril Lavigne, Pink, Gwen Stephani or the leady singer from Paramore. The rest sing pop, hip hop stuff. And yeah Joplin was great. She did bring a lot to her music. There are alot of crappy male rockers too! Great looks, image but bad music! Good thing is they mostly only last one album thank god! I think reggaeis very cool too! Love Bob Marley! cheers

RE: What are you listening to?

The last couple days it's been warm....not sweltering though. Still a little cool. Finally summer is here. Can't wait to go for a swim! But I need it a little warmer!

RE: What are you listening to?

The last concert I saw was Chris Cornell in May. It was all acoustic. Pretty dam good!

Yep, love Led Zep. One of my all time favourite bands. And U2 I've seen a couple times. Excellent both times. I actually went to a video shoot once a few years ago. It was just a live scene. They did about 8 takes and then did a free show afterwards. Only about 8 songs but it was pretty cool!

I've seen a few Zepperella vids including this one. If I was a guy I'd be droolin all over this! Hot chicks rockin it out, oh my! I'd see them if they came to town. I think they're friggin cool and their drummer is awesome! And just the fact they cover Led Zep! Girls ROCK!!!!!!! head banger head banger head banger I really should have learned to play guitar! Always wanted to! Or the drums!

RE: What are you listening to?

@Moose You know what I'm listening to! Soundgarden! grin I'm listening to the Badmotorfinger CD! head banger head banger head banger So many good songs but my favourite would be:

Yeah, it does get dead here in the Can. forum. I check in once in a while. I saw you were livening it up though along with Langley girl! cheers

RE: crosby is god

Awww....to bad for you. Lots of small guys have made it though. They tend to have the speed and skill. Do you still play for fun or exercise? I use to enjoy playing floor hockey in high school and later played road hockey with guy friends a couple times!

So what do you think of Jagr? I was kinda surprised!

I see you your knowledgeable about music also. Skynyrd as far as I know was formed before the Allman Brothers but if you are talking commercial success, yes you are right Allman brothers were successful first. And what Duane Allman said is very true.

I like all types of rock music from the 50's onwards.

You are correct about what grunge is. Led Zep definitely influenced alot of those bands and maybe that's why I like it so much cause I'm a big Led Zep fan. But you have to give Soundgarden way more credit than that! A lot of their music is punk/heavy metal inspired. And anyways, all music borrows from one another!

I remember first seeing Nirvana on Much Music with the Smells Like Teen Spirit video and was blown away. Who are these guys? I'm sad that I never got to see them but I've seen the Foo Fighters a few times. The thing with Nirvana's music is it sounds just as new today as it did back then. I've seen Pearl Jam a few times too and Soundgarden once and they have recently got back together and so will be seeing them at the end of the month. head banger head banger

For me in my teens I loved mostly the heavier rock bands (some were hair bands lol!) but in my 20's I got into grunge music big time and that is my favourite genre. The 90's were the best music to me. The 2000's have been OK.

As for 70's Southern rock Lynyrd Skynyrd is the orginal I think. Next would be Allman brothers. Their influence is still felt by bands coming out of the South that have a harder edge to their music but that southern influence is still there.

No your not! They were one of the firsts and are a great band!
