Not many are able to do that anymore. They are taught in school to just believe what the "authority figures" tell them. Why do you think the evolutionists fight so hard to keep creationism out of the schools? It's not just the media, scientists are guilty of it as well. Science used to be the pursuit of knowledge no matter what the outcome. Now science is only interested in studying things in such a way as to come to the conclusion that they want.
Ben Stein did a movie not long ago called "Expelled". He was attempting to find out why only evolution is taught in schools. Notice that you never hear of that movie at all? It was only released a few months ago, made a limited opening and disappeared. I notice that creationists are willing to discuss evolution, but evolutionists refuse to discuss creationism.
She really liked Palin's speech the other night. I think it started when Hillary lost.
It shocked me when she told me. We have been arguing over politics for years. It probably didn't hurt that a majority of the people that she hangs out with are Republicans.
She has come to realize that voting the party line isn't always the best action. Screw the parties. Give me candidates that care more for the country than their own self interests.

My 69 year old neighbor has been a Democrat all of her life. After watching Palin's speach the other night, she has decided to vote Republican for the first time ever.
