35 years ago the so called experts said we were headed for an ice age.
30 years ago the so called experts said that killer bees were coming up from South America and would wipe out a large portion of the US population.
25 Years ago the so called experts said that a hole in the ozone layer was going to expand to a point that life on this earth as we know it would drastically change.
Today the so called experts say that global warming is going to practically destroy the earth as we know it.
When will people wake up and realize that the so called experts are nothing but a bunch of Chicken Littles running aroud yelling that the sky is falling?
There is ALWAYS something for the money to be spent on when in the hands of a politician. Look at the bill that was just signed today with 9000 earmarks.
Yes it is, but far too many people could care less about the cost as long as it isn't costing them.
I think the best solution would be to set up Government funded HSA's for those that can't afford insurance. This would give them the incentive to be frugal with the health care dollars allocated to them.
The attitudes of the people that abused the system then haven't changed. The same thing will happen today because it's "free" and more people today have that attitude than ever before.
You mentioned earlier about wellness clinics costing less than hospitals. Far too many people have no desire to change their unhealthy lifestyles. They want to live their lives with no interference but then when their lifestyle causes health issues, someone else is supposed to foot the bill.
That is the problem though. Back when jobs came with excellent insurance coverage, too many people used the emergency room for the slightest injury or ailment because it was "free."
