Great thread. I am a prime - blind as a bat at a young age candidate for this surgery but I still am drawn to the ... point point whatever percentage they say went blind, or blurred vision, or had watery/itchy eyes (given my current allergies - getting worse eyes is a reason to stay the same - so I think).
My Uncle had it done - said it was amazing - he's dead now - doubt it is related to the surgery
Pedro - I watched this Ted talk years ago and it stuck with me but I could not remember her name. While it might not answer your q's it is definitely worth a watch. Jill Bolte taylor was intrigued & moved to find out why her schizophrenic brother detached to the communal reality and devoted her life to studying the brain. Her Ted talk was really insightful to me. Hope the link works.
As the thread title - I am looking for some empty wooden cable reels - tried a few clearance places locally, adverts, done deal etc but no luck. Anyone suggest where to try - can travel Dublin, Midlands to collect.
Hi Pedro - I've my full licence for 3 years & only 6 month provisional before that and have 2 points. I've been driving a 1.2 and it was €300 from Lynskey Ryan Insurance underwritten by Setanta - I changed it to a 1.9 this year & the quote was €540. They've consistently got me the best value quotes. Since the new regs came in there should not be much difference in male/female quotes.
Think I am with the chip butty folks - hard to beat in a white bap with proper mushy peas and loads of salt n vinegar. yum. got heartburn thinking about it.
Probably true. But I'm doing it as cheap and cheerful as possible - even got a day's work lined up in Eastbourne with Staedlar, which will cover my petrol costs driving to Brighton (and staying with my brother). Then a friend got me free tickets to a theme park for the day. I have the ferry paid for - wasn't as bad as I thought - less than 300 for me, kids and car. It is just a bit of spending money I'm short. I got rid of my credit card this year, hated the monthly bill - so credit union only real option.
It's not a huge amount but I hate being in debt - at the moment I've a credit union loan against my balance, so technically not a debt but I'm taking the kids on holiday to visit family and need some cash for treats. So, I can borrow some more off the credit union or I have a cnc router at my brother's that's worth a couple of hundred sterling(even though I'd like to have it to use in the future). So should I flog the router and stay out of debt or borrow the cash and just pay it back monthly? Which way would you go?
Well - first off fair play for putting yourself out their to meet & greet new neighbours. I'm in the process of moving and whilst a lot of people are happy to rubberneck and "chit chat" no one has actually talked to me as such. If this one happening makes you "so exhausted" then it seems to be a culmination of such events and you need to ask should you focus all of your exasperation to that particular neighbour. Ask yourself why has this upset you so much - ask them out to breakfast or something casual but imminent, if you get rapport explain how hurt you were - if not tell them you invit eevery newbie out for breakfast.
Thanks. I'll give it a go. It's weird though - at 18 I'd have ripped the kitchen apart and flooded the place if I got it wrong , is it older and wiser or just more lazy and let someone else deal with it?
It is but tbh if someone did it to me - in the manner it was, I wouldn't be that particularly bothered. I appreciate Maddogs comment about viewing his mail to Serenity - perhaps the most relevant in the whole debacle.
