I'd love to have some me time away from the kids - no chance mine will take them for one night unless I beg and even then it's only when he feels he should. Although perhaps after a week the novelty would wear off.... but the chance to find out would be good! Treat yourself - have little trip away ... there's some really cheap hotel deals or go hostelling.
Keep the faith sweetie - I was going to give up on the whole online dating thing, sometimes women can't see what is under their noses. I had him strictly in the mate date category, thankfully he didn't give up straight away and today - I got to say I'm happier than I been in a long long time. And you're right I'd do anything for that guy. IT only takes one to change your world - so keep looking
Fool contributor Rick Aristotle Munarriz Jiayuan.com (Nasdaq: DATE ) is China's leading online dating site with 44% of the market. It coincidentally went public on the same day as stateside matchmaker FriendFinder Network (Nasdaq: FFN ) -- but Jiayuan's the one worth owning. Online dating in China is a market that Oppenheimer & Co. expects to triple by 2015, and cyberspace tracker iResearch sees website revenue in this niche roughly quadrupling.
Jiayuan should grow even faster given its market leadership and its smart decision to avoid the upfront fees charged by its smaller rivals.
Registered users can browse through millions of profile pages for free on Jiayuan. They are only charged a small fee when they actually want to contact someone on the site. The pay per lead model is working.
There was an average of 4.7 million monthly active users during this year's first quarter, an 89% increase over the past year. However, the number of paying user accounts soared 188% to 882,471. The viral plan is turning lookers into bookers, and the company that is nearly breaking even on explosive top-line growth today should be ridiculously profitable in the near future. Despite the heady growth and tremendous upside, Jiayuan isn't trading for a whole lot more than May's $11 IPO price.
China is clearly a risky place to invest in these days, but it would be a mistake to get in the way of matters of the heart.
Shall we have a whip round and go into the stock markets?
Ok - so I'll sicken you with my tale of the wonderful man I have met. Honestly, no one has ever treated me so well before and you can all keep the bad guys cos really this is just Nothing is too much trouble - he carries my bags, he's had my car fixed and a new stereo fitted as a suprise. He cooks and washes up and listens to all my bizarre ideas. He bought me new trainers this week and last month drove back over 70 miles to get me a handbag I commented on in a shop window. He eats my cooking without complaint and watches reruns of Cracker with me. He's unself conscious and a bit soppy at times, oh it's as much an attitude as it is about what he does....He met my mother and she liked him ....
Couple of weeks ago went up to Dublin to watch a play - a London Irish production. Years since I went but really enjoyed more than I expected. Tomorrow night I'm going to the greyhound racing. Went to Temple Bar a while back and omg - being from the sticks, it was just like, wow - how does anyone ever meet anyone? It was great craic but definitely not dating territory.
Hey thanks - I have loads of questions. Not even sure if the plasma cutter is what I need for the dies I want to make - I think a laser cutter would simply be too slow and the cnc router I was advised to buy just wont do it .... Really not sure if I'd be able to build one - although I was on a cnc site were it seems to be a 50/50 split between those who build and those who pre buy.
Been looking at cnc plasma cutters with water tables on you tube and they are fab. I have actually found a used cnc plasma cutter, I have chanced my arm and contacted them about selling it. Credit union here I come - eeek.Anyway, not v confident my bid is high enough but don't ask wont know. I'd love to set up a community style fab lab - I have die cutting stuff - manual roller type and craft robo - soldering stuff - and an old kiln and ceramic molds - scroll saw and glass etching stuff - hell, there's even a sewing machine - it would great to see people making and learning with it ... anyone got a laser cutter knocking around in their shed? It's finding a place to put it all - although I thought if could get a group of people together and charged a nominal sub of say €15 a month to cover rent in a unit somewhere ...
Someone has suggested etching it - "I'm sure that adding something like nitric acid to ferric chloride should give a decent steel etchant: then you can create quite fine, detailed shapes: as detailed as a laser printer can produce." but I don't know enough about the process and I'd still have to have the steel milled to size to start with with.
but been looking at the plasma cutters and wow - my little mind is racing at the prospect of a metal empire ... would love to do some of the stuff I've seen. Oh well short of the lottery, it's not going to happen....
Seriously not loaded - I just about scraped up the cash for the cnc with help from by brother but if I could potentially make a business from it then I'd tap the credit union for a loan. But if I could pay for someone to produce for me first to see how it goes it would probably make sense. And thanks will try the IT too.
sounds like the sort of thing I need. But it's more like 3mm steel! Just that the cnc router goes too slow and eventually the blade snaps - not that I know much about them, it's a lot more tech than I expected - slowly getting there with help. But hoping to be able to cut wooden shapes soon... So I just look up "engineering shops?"
A bit confusing but I wanted to cut some dies and parts from metal and also some mdf and was told I needed a cnc router ... so I got one second hand but it now seems that for the detail I need in the metal/steel I'll probably need a cnc plasma cutter. So can anyone help me work out if this is actually what I need and if so should I buy one or is there anywhere I can "buy" cutting time if I supplied materials. thanks in advance for any help.
Nope - I only learned under severe duress - hauling self, two kids in the buggy and the dog, the 2 miles to town every day in the Irish weather eventually forced me to learn and I'd only try an automatic! Anyhow, 2 years on and am flying up and down the motorway and even done the trip to Wales on the ferry. I did think about going and doing the manual now but these new laws mean I'd have to go back and have a load more lessons first and right now just can't afford it.
I had a big crush on a girl when I split with my ex but I think it was more that I didn't want to date a man than I seriously wanted to be with a woman. I think Lady Blackadder is right in saying that women fall in love with a "person" rather than a gender - but it's often older women that are comfortable enough in their own skins that actually act on their emotions. I have snogged a bi friend years ago, she was really promiscuous so I wasn't messing with her head or anything but it would never have gone any further but if I had ever met the right woman then who knows? I think I'm more hetro than bi but you never say never.
the man had huge dignity in the face of huge adversity both publicly and personally. I feel the country has lost an honourable and self effacing man. And we are in need of them more than ever. RIP Brian Lenihan
ah you may well mock and He does indeed work in mysterious ways - my fear of combustion SIL went to her son's wedding and being her, arrived late - having been unable to resist the pull of a garden centre on the way .... As mother of the groom she had to make the long walk to the front of the church and half way down the aisle her silk knickers slithered to her ankles! We are all going to a funeral Monday - she is remaining in a different country for fear of retribution.
thanks nice to see you too .... and it doesn't contain alcohol anymore - so you still have to detour to the bottle shop and then u start wondering why bother going to the garage at all ...
If money can't buy you love could love make you money?
Aaaah bet you get one of those big glasses then Try a tube into a box of wine - leaves one hand for cig, one for choccy ...
