Good example; earlier tonight, I was feeling very stressed and alone, but with the honesty and compassionate expressions posted so far, my spirits have been lifted.
"I do step in to try to help". One of the problems in this world today; a feeling of detachment, a feeling that no one really cares, family values, leave alone a close family. Too many of us feel discarded and alone without anyone to simply ask, "hey, you OK ?"
Suicide. A permanent solution to a temporary problem or the reverse ? Guess it all depends on your spiritual/religious beliefs. Sadly, there are now more suicides than homicides in the U.S.
I would guess that many of us have been married at least once, a few are still searching. It seems that within this wired world that so many lean towards the Web, in an attempt to avoid the bar and social scene. It would seem much faster to put yourself out there on a single site than hang around the local watering hole, fending off idiots. Unfortunately, we are shopping "Blind".
On sites we can only communicate in two dimensions, text and a photo. The photo maybe outdated, the text may be a scam. A few, to my knowledge have connected. Most, despite all efforts and travel have failed. Yet is remains a great medium and meeting place for those who are true and sincere. I have met a couple of women from this site over the past few years, nothing came of it except friendship, and that counts. I have also met some wonderful men in the forums only, and that counts just as much.
All this could not be possible just 8 years ago when the Web was in it's infancy.
