When you're born, a certain amount of money is placed in a heavenly account. When you sin, a certain amount is taken from your account, as in; telling a lie, .25 cents. Cheating on your partner, .80 cents. m**turbation, .50 cents. I had a dream the other night that I died and was refused entrance to heaven. I was short 50 cents.
When I was 21, I applied for a job, had an interview. The person interviewing me said, "You speak English very well for a French Canadian". He then held up my application and ripped it up, threw it in the trash can and said,"We'll call you".
I have first hand knowledge of prejudice. I was born in Quebec, Canada, of French Canadian parents. When I was growing up, the province was run by white, Anglo-Saxon, Protestants, who treated French Canadians as 3rd class citizens. There are still people in my country who dislike me for my heritage. It hurts at times, but keep on keeping on.
No matter what age, what baggage, how hurt you feel, or the guilt of hurting another. This site seems to be a testing ground, where we may flirt, fall in love, ( Cyber-love ) We are in the market place, we advertise here. We put our best foot forward and hope for the best. As Assets stated in her profile, "On line shopping for men". What a wonderful diversion from reality. I do agree with her, at times it works. At the very least, it fills our cyber living room with some wonderful people.
I'd rather be writing this crap, than watching TV.
In London, a parking meter can cost as much as $10.00 an hour. Some kid working in Mc D's can look out the window and see that a meter is earning more than he is.
