There are a flock of them that hang out at a small neighborhood park a few streets away. I don't live on that small lake anymore, so no longer have that up close and personal daily view of them anymore though. What I do have out my back door now are deer, lots of deer. And a bunny that lives in my yard. Squirrels, chipmunks, mole, neighborhood cat, a veritable animal fest in the middle of suburbia.
I was saddened to hear of this news today and impatient to leave the office so that I could get home on my personal computer to wish all of my friends across the pond my condolences. She was regal in every sense of the word.
My special friend would never allow me to pay for dinner out. It makes me feel special and my company valued. In return, he receives many nice homecooked meals and special treats....it makes him feel special and valued. It does not occur to me to place a monetary value on these simple ways of showing our appreciation and affection for one another.
I've never been so insulted in my life. (Note to self: a few less botox injections wouldn't go awry. Apparently I'm beginning to look like a mannequin.)
