Life and love

Life & love
I do remember my first love
At sweet sixteen to seventeen,
I didn’t doubt my young lover
Until I realised it was all over,
Betrayed I felt to the bone
Moved on I did on my own,
My second was great and lasted for years
It grew in strength with laughter and tears,
Only ending in pain for us both to feel
I do know for sure this love was real,
Moving on to the deepest love of all
I did not realise how hard I could fall,
You left me in turmoil and despair
A broken man in need of repair,
We met again after many years
And enjoyed the closeness we once shared
The love was still there I felt it for sure
As if time had stood still if only it could,
You left the next day as you said you should.
I think of you often,I do wish you well
Too many years I’ve stayed in my shell,
Try to move on I tell myself,
Don’t be left upon the shelf,
Find someone new to take away the pain
I have taken relief now and again,
Once was almost real until the bubble did burst
Embarrassing episodes slowly got worse.
I can’t believe it’s 20 years
since I heard those 3 words everyone hears
Don’t take them for granted and use them well
For in your heart you can always tell,
Who makes it skip a beat?
And company is always a treat,
Who appreciates you for who you are?
And truly believes you are a star.
Believe in love! I still do,
I remember it well and it was true.

Confused

It's sad that you don't know me.
You may have just missed out.
We chatted for a bit
I thought we were a hit.
I missed it by a mile.
Still you made me smile.
To think you might be interested
In someone just like me.
Maybe one day I will find someone who is kind
And truly interested in what someday they will find.
Hidden away from prying eyes
And judgment they don't need.
We all feel the pain of rejection
And this will never rhythm.

A Birthday prose

I remember well, our meeting in the park,
You were lost, and it was getting dark,
I abandoned my bike to take Bente and you,
To a Norwegian bar where our friendship grew,
You looked for me after that day,
I found you both in Vallhalla they say,
We drank and sung and danced that night,
And in the morning when it was light,
It was time to go, to part my dear,
The pain was great the sorrow long,
Meeting you has made me strong,
Enjoy your day you have enriched my life,
Drink, sing and dance,
For in Vallhalla we may meet again by chance.

Alison

Your eyes so inviting,
With a smile so kind,
Your hand so gentle,
And soft upon mine,
Your voice I find soothing,
With words full of charm,
Changing so fast to do so much harm.

Your eyes are now vacant!
What do they see?
Your hand no longer welcome,
as it comes down, upon me!
Your voice is a warning!
Sending a chill through my spine
Where has gone, this love of mine?

I see you now, In the light of day
your eyes hiding shame,
turning their gaze away!
Please look at me now!
And try to explain,
how so much love,
Can cause this much pain.

Your eyes can now see
What your smile cannot save,
A broken heart, Which once was so brave,
You will never touch,
"Though I still feel the pain!"
My heart filled with love
and will always remain!

searching for the one

As an eternal optimist I still believe in love and have fell hard before,
I will fall again and it will not be a chore,
The search it can be fun, when looking for the one,
Who takes your breath away, day after day,
Who lights up your life, when you are blue,
Someone to catch you, when you do fall,
To run to, on the sound of there call,
To be at your side, when needed to be,
To need you there too, as it should be,
It's not much to ask, nor easy to find,
So help with this task, I do not mind,
To open your heart, first open your mind,
Start with a word, try making it kind,
"Good morning!" as you walk down the street,
It could be me you one day meet!

sweet dreams (40 word challenge)

Awoke in the night!
not with fright, rather sense of a sight,
or a feeling with meaning,
emotion running high,
higher than the sky,
I want to be there,
only I know not where or how,
"think I'm there now!"

Ask

If you were to ask me, who are you?
Where are you from?
What do you do?
Have you seen the same things I see?
When you dream, what do you see?
Can you imagine the things I do?
Are you like me?
Or am I like YOU?

A sound from the past

As the snow melts
And the waters do flow,
Down to the coast,
To the coast you shall go,
To sit on the beach,
And watch the waves fall,
Bringing a breeze,
With the sound of a call,
Is it a horn? Or singing? Or cheers?
A sound so familiar,
From over the years,
A sound to remember,
A sound from the past,
A sound to be proud of,
A sound that will last.
The sound of young dreams
Being formed in the mind
Preparing for battle, so unkind
Singing their songs of victories past
Regaling their stories that forever will last,
Taking up oars and steering their way,
Towards a new land through the fog where it lay,
Laden with shields and weapons of war,
Moving at pace inspired by Thor,
Landing their ship and going to ground,
Ready to fight as they all look around,
Finding a village and wondering why?
They don’t want to fight! Should they all die?
Maybe we’ll stay and start a new life,
One of these locals can be my new wife,
Children she will bear for me in this land,
Right here I can have a life O so grand,
They will grow strong and proud,
And hear the horn O so loud,
When they go to the shore,
Like their fathers before.

I’m not a crab! (am I?)

I liken myself to a crab,
My star sign being cancer,
Why I think I’m like this beast
I do not have the answer.

I do not think I have a shell
Although I wish I did.
For when life gets too much for me
That’s where you’ll find me hid.

I certainly don’t have sharp claws
To give people a nip.
My hands are soft and gentle
This cold is giving them gip.

My eyes they do not wander
Around like a telescope.
They don’t see quite as far as they should,
But I haven’t given up hope.

To say that I walk sideways,
Sidestepping issues important.
Is not entirely true,
To say for sure, “I can’t”

Maybe if you, can break my crusty shell,
And find the softness, deep inside,
Then you could sometime tell,
The people that have toyed with me,
And chased me far away,
Please don’t tease me on the beach,
On a summers day.

unknown friends

Here I am, once again, talking to you as if your my friend.
Alone of course, no other way it has been
I don't think I am sad,I don't feel so blue
So do not worry about me this time
I am finding my way, helped along by this ryhme.

It has been a while almost a year,
since I last wrote anything of cheer,
this does not mean, I do not care,
I just have not had anything to share,

I hope you are all well, in life and in love
And comfortable in life like a hand in a glove,
We must keep in touch with our life and our friends,
Nobody likes it when frendships do end,

You are a friend to me did you know?
I am sorry? I did not tell you so,
When I write these things on here,
I hope for you good health and cheer!

May life treat you well! be happy not sad!
This is a choice we have! I am glad!
To say to you this day it's true!
Happy to have a friend in YOU!

just because.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
Just because your thinking so, there's no need to be rude.
Just because i'ts in plain sight, not everyone will see.
Just because it scares me so,I should not let it be.
Just because it happened once, I think I mean to you?
Just because it happens once, you think you've made it through.
Just because we do not watch, we think it is not there.
Just because it is not us,you believe we do not care.
Just because you deny, it will not go away.
Just because you see no pain, day by day by day.
just because you are blind, but you really see.
Just because you are you, please let me be me!
