PLACES TO BE - St. Basil's Cathedral, Russia

This monument escaped destruction
Of Soviet's battles and revolution,
Like a church in Disney's fairytale
With bright rounded candles in the air,
Looking glorious, no melancholy trail
Hopes are strong, faith prevail.

Resembling tulip bulbs in the sky
Or intricate balloons ready to fly,
These cupola crowns reaching heaven
Do you think Russia is forgiven?
Opening turbulent, gloomy wars
With repeated sufferings and scars,
Tough harmony under the stars!

PLACES TO BE - Amsterdam

Amsterdam, enthralling
With those canals curling
Concentric art displays
Streets follow the waterways.

Softly, curiosity arouses
Pretty, slim narrow houses
Leaning homes, close together
Are stronger, holding each other
Like saying "unity is power"!

PLACES TO BE - Easter Island

On this spot, explorers arrived in Easter
Found carved stones from volcanic crater,
Giant figures shadow the island,
As if starkly saying, this is our land.
Our cruise ship made things so inviting
Free rubber boat rides were waiting
But this isolated park's not so seducing
Monolithic massive statues, not smiling
They look unhappy, grim a barren silence
Old Father Time darkened their patience!

FOOD HAIKU POEMS

Only green salad
Can't stand it, makes me feel sad
Fasting then is bad.

Eat fruits everyday
To the loo an easy way
Drives the doctor away.

Strawberries are sweet
But ice cream is the best treat
Ate in bed, stained sheet.

Remember don't cry
I'll bake fruit and chicken pie
Before sunset's goodbye.

A LOVE POEM

Each poem we read holds a treasure
Some deep feelings one can’t measure
A gem, good luck charm, an amulet
Words of love not to forget.

Each scar a budding flower
Each healed pain has its power
Soft spot one can’t feel or see
Can make a spirit sound and free.

Everything’s a state of mind
Happiness and joy we find
Sad, hurt world may shatter
But a bright heart with love can matter.

CREATION

Darwinian theory is not life's conclusion
It's a massive daunting delusion!
Scientists and scholars can't prove evolution,
No laboratories or any institution
Can do an experiment or attestation
On life's origin as evolution
Fish to human, what speculation!
Monkeys remain monkeys no mutation
Just embrace and admire God's creations.

Great life on earth, a wonder or mystery
The amazing nature, the vast blue sea
Splendid varied species to discover and see
Enjoy a starry night or the sunset's beauty
A restless mind searching truth to be free,
We'd know the best creation: you and me!

THE WORLD NEEDS LOVE

To illusions or dreams the heart is driven

Though the world is not just about love

And it's the key, connection to heaven

Spreading peace and lighting path thereof

And unto us, a choice of power's given

But a sad world weeps for the lack of love.

IF IT'S OUR TIME, WE HAVE TO GO

Uncertain times, what to do
Can't just sulk and be blue
Can't make a world full of woe
Live with fears, why suffer so...

If it's our time, we have to go
We can't tell, we may never know
It can be fast, it can be slow
Give back our Creator what we owe
Before we part to the valley below.

Flying high where the winds blow
Our spirits join the stars to glow
If it's our time, we have to go
We can't tell, we may never know.

REALITY CAN STRIKE ONE FALLING

In poems, be true to your writing

An artist can be truthfully painting

One can pretend, accidentally lying

Invent phrases and rhymes, uplifting

Love lines to keep a spirit hoping,

Bright thoughts to make a soul soaring

But reality can strike one falling.

Ten Little Boyfriends

Ten little boyfriends looking so fine
One was obsessed with food and wine
Then there were nine.

Nine little boyfriends asked me for dates
One comes always so very late
Then there were eight.

Eight little boyfriends searching for heaven
One was dishonest, appearing nice even
So there were seven.

Seven little boyfriends learning varied tricks
One fell down and just got sick
Then there were six.

Six little boyfriends very much alive
One get addicted to dancing the jibe
And then there were five.

Five little boyfriends knocked at the door
One broke his head falling on the floor
And then there were four.

Four little boyfriends who loved the sea
One got drowned, so sad you see
And then there were three.

Three little boyfriends who were nice and true
One disappeared without any clue
And then there were two.

Two little boyfriends loving the sun
One caught cancer when his skin was burned
So there was one.

One little boyfriend oozing with charm
But too dangerous for anyone
And then there was none.

L O V E, L O V E, L O V E

A luxury's being close to you
When I know it just can't be true
Falling deeply in love again
Is welcoming another pain.

Creating sweet dreams and illusions
That will turn to bitter delusions
It's a decision to waste a life
Letting a heart break by a knife.

Dancing solo in the raindrops
Can't hide sadness, sincere teardrops
But the sun comes, bringing hope and cheers
And light shines through, melting sighs and fears.

APPRECIATE THE STRUGGLE

Appreciate the struggle, embrace the death
Thank the discourtesy of last breath
Blossoms and flowers killed for the wreath
Light can still quiver beneath.

Be grateful for the pandemic?
The flow of life, slow and anemic
Think of the highway to heaven's scenic
Just realistic, not a jaded cynic.
