All of Our Lives are Planned

Walking down my road one day I see a little tree,
It seems so lost and alone, it reminds me of… me,
Not really having a place in this world, not knowing what to do,
But sure to grow up big and strong, this I know is true,
Feeling small and in the way of everyone around us,
Seeming like a pesky insignificant piece of dust,
Finally growing up into a beautiful adult,
Realizing that everything that happens is not always our fault,
Knowing that no matter what we have a place on this earth,
If we didn’t why would god have made us from his hearth?
Apparently we have a reason for being created,
But right now we’ll just have to wait and try to not feel jaded,
None of us can tell the future and find out what’s to be,
We can’t unlock the door to it with a little key,
That little tree reminded me of who and what I am,
That every thing on this earth has its life planned.

Lunchtime Break Up

It’s not you,
It’s me.
It’s not the right time.
More wine?
Can’t explain why.
Please don’t cry.

They said to break the news in a public place.
Now the mascara is running down her face.

Don’t send the waiter away.
We’re going to be here all day.

Please put down that knife.
No, I’m not going back to my wife.
You can’t make a scene in here.
Perhaps I haven’t made myself clear.
Waiter! Is that whisky on its way?
She’s twisting everything I say.

It’s not me,
It’s you.
Look, I have to be back by two.
No, nothing’s more important than this.
How about one last goodbye kiss?

No, there’s no one else, I swear.
I wouldn’t even dare.
I would never cheat.
Of course, you make me complete.

What’s that? You’ll throw yourself in front of a train?
Ok, Ok, of course we can try again.
Dessert? For you dear, nothing’s too much trouble.
Waiter! More wine for the lady and make mine a double.

A Ring of Endless Light

The Deep but Dazzling darkness
Dwelling in my hearts set free,
My good mind’s eye was closed
I lived in Mystery.

Now in my little World
You are the sun with shining rays,
You bring hope and Promise
Upon my darkest days.

In the spinning of the Universe
Everything’s a part
There will be a plan for us
ON this I rest my heart

What part we are to play
I’m really not so sure
But we are together now
Our souls are White and Pure.

Now against the shadows
Of the oppressive mind I fight
Because surrounding us
There is a Ring of Endless Light.

Help with new poem pages (not a poem)

Here's some help with new poem pages...

To view/edit your poems, click POEMS in the top nav,
then click on the QUILL (feather) ICON (my poems) at the top of the poems list.

That will give you a list of YOUR poems with info about each poem (number of views, comments, etc.)

Click the GREEN PENCIL ICON to edit a poem or click the BLUE COMMENT ICON to delete comments to your poem.

Click either of those icons and you will see 3 tabs:
1. Basics- to edit the title or body of your poem,
2. Design- to edit the color or border style of your poem,
3. Comments- to delete unwanted comments to your poem.

Another way to get to your poems is to click your PHOTO ICON in the top nav, go to your MY ACCOUNT page, scroll to bottom of page in the MANAGE section and click on MY POEMS
- - - - - - - - - -

Other info...

Click POEMS in the top nav again and notice at the top of the poem list you can sort the poems by Category or by Style, and you can order the list by newest, most viewed, etc.

We understand that change is hard, and it's annoying to try to find things you used to know. We're hoping the advantages of the new design and features will outweigh any items lost, and that you will take the time to click on the new links, icons and buttons on the pages to find out where everything is located... and that you will like the site better as you learn your way around :)

A New Life With You

Walking hand in hand through this moonless night,
the darkness penetrated only by the light in our eyes,
blind, yet seeing so much,
our lonliness ends with just a simple touch,

stumbling and tripping over unexpected things,
eye locking, as together we spread our wings,
soaring high; our heart free at last,
we embrace the future and forget the past,

we land in a meadow; surrounded by life,
you take my hand and i become your wife,
hearts bound together in a love so true,
together we leave the dark and begin life anew.

Dreams of You

Last night I dreamt of you and me,
Hand in hand lying under the trees,
I’d lift my head for a kiss so sweet,
You’d look at me and our eyes would meet,
My eyes drift closed as your lips brush mine,
I want you like this for the rest of time,
We stood and walked along the bank,
For this paradise, it’s you I thank,
I hear you whisper, “J’adore tu”
I softly say I love you too,
But something seems a little wrong,
I think a bit, but then you’re gone,
When I awake my fist is clenched,
And I finally remember; you never spoke French.

In time

Never doubt how much I’m pining
Never doubt how much I care
Better find a silver lining:
A burden difficult to bear

Yet another glimpse of our tomorrow,
The truth is difficult to take
But there will be too much sorrow
If our promises we break

We set it on fire
Too late to go back
Faith and desire are toying with us

Never doubt how much I miss you
Never doubt how much I care
Better find the path of reason
A burden difficult to bear

Lovers

Lovers entwined,
In body and in mind,
Hearts connected,
Feel their love projected,

Passionate words said,
No longer shall they pray for death,
Entrapped in each other’s eyes,
No more betrayals and no more lies,

Loving words said in their lover’s ear,
Whispered low so no one else can hear,
Arms locked in a tight embrace,
Gazes never straying from the other's face,

A simple touch,
Will never be enough,
For these two lost souls,
Who make each other whole.

Purpose of Poet's Corner is POETRY NOT POLITICS

Hey Group, this is not a poem... just want to clear some things up that seem to be brewing here right now.

The purpose of the Poet's Corner is POETRY NOT POLITICS.

The subject of a poem MAY be about a current event or about an author's own political opinion (freedom to express).

Comments to those poems should be directed at the poem itself.. a friendly constructive critique/discussion of the poem as it was posted.. nothing more. Comments may NOT be a personal attack on the beliefs or 'person' of the poet that may be indicated in the poem (respect for others and the rules).

The Poet's Corner is NOT a soapbox to argue politics, politicians, or political parties.

Neither poem nor comments may be used as a personal attack on any other member.

In the Poet's Corner it doesn't matter if politically you are liberal, conservative, or any other party. It doesn't matter who you voted for in the last election, or who you think caused current political local or world problems. This is an international site, rich in the diversity of opinions and writing skills from members of different cultures, religions, locations, educations, and language worldwide. It's not surprising that we do not all agree. But we need to be tolerant of our differences, be openminded to ideas we don't like and, if we're willing, we can actually learn a lot from others who are very different from us.

Remember, you're here because you love writing and verse, not to support a political agenda. If you do, you're risking your membership and ability to post here.

Believe In Them

Why can't you look into my eyes and see the light of day?
There are other who came before you who've found another way,
how many times must I tell you that you're not in this alone,
trust me when I say; that my heart is your home,
there are people here to guide you,
friends you know are true,
so take my hand through this darkened path,
lets walk together and forget the past,
because the things to come are worth living for,
if you'd only open your heart a little more,
let someone into you hardened soul,
embrace the feeling of being whole,
don't be afraid of a little heartache,
it's just one of those things you have to take,
it can't be beaten or destroyed,
just act as if it's a little toy,
an obstacle in your way of finding true happiness,
look to tomorrow, not yesterday's darkness,
think of the future as a bright shining star,
though the trip may seem a bit far,
it will all pay up in the end,
just remember to believe in your friends.

I Love You

I love you more than I can say,
but know my heart is your heart.
Know I'll want you until the
flowers are no more.
Until the mountains don't have
their majestic beauty.
Until the sun doesn't rise in His presence.
Being together means we are as one.
Being with you means my
days are bright and filled with
laughter; love; goodness and bliss.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart
for being the special way you are.
