The only one who loves me is Jesus
The only one who saved me is Jesus
The only one who doesn't condemn
The only one who is my friend

The only one who won't forsake me
The only one who will take me
Just as I am and with his plan place me in heaven someday
The only one who knows the way is Jesus

The only one who looks for me is Jesus
The only one who forgives me is Jesus
The only one who descended and ascended with me on his mind
The only one who has ever been kind is Jesus

He hasn't had a relationship in nearly twenty years
When it comes to romance he's been on the far side of the moon
For a long time he hasn't shed any tears
He's out of touch and you know he's not returning anytime soon

He's disconnected in the dark
Not a woman in sight to touch his heart
He forgot how to whistle a happy tune
Silence is not golden on the far side of the moon

He has no one to pick flowers for
So what's the point if they should bloom
He'll never pick them anymore
He no longer has a calendar not even for the month of June

His message fades away power supply is nearly gone
Is it fair this should be his doom
Not even nasa can bring him home
And he's stranded on the far side of the moon

It's a long drive to the city
I'm here all alone nowhere else to go what is there to do
And this is the feeling when the only idea is blue

The sun shines through my window upon my easy chair
I know when I was younger I'd never be sitting there
And soon leaves will change and fall will be in the air

All my friends have either passed away
Or moved very far to a place like Timbuktu
And this is the feeling when the only idea is blue

How many choices do you have today
Can't make up your mind and still haven't put on your shoes
I guess I don't have much to say when the only idea is blue

It's a little late to talk of love
A little late to even try
And the saddest part of all It's a little late to say goodbye

I should have kept all this from you
Yes that's what I should have done
Even though it is true just a few more lines then I must run

But it seems I've been running for years
I fell in love with you and you don't know why
Just a trail of a poets tears and please forgive me as I tell a lie

It was all just a fantasy I never loved you at all
And if you were a friend I was just a guy
We may never meet again and it's a little late to say goodbye

I got something you want to read
You got something you want to say
But you can't say a thing cause you don't write

Now aint that a dilemma lemon
So here is another line
Won't you take another bite

Detectives are everywhere but poetry is not a crime
Are you mad because my hair won't completely disappear
No it's stuck at just looking fine

I think I'll take a stroll a little walk
Enjoy the scenery along the way tote an umbrella in case of rain
I won't complain and when it's a sunny day you can fly a kite

Taxi take me down to the lonely side of town
My tears I need to hide
Along the walk by the riverside

I need a special place to pray
And ask the Lord to take my burdens away
The skies have been so gray

And there's no love around

My mind needs some space
From this crazy rat race
My soul and my spirit need a heavenly embrace

Today that old muddy river doesn't make a sound

I need to sing a song but I don't know what
I need to find a girl and love her a lot
I need to write a poem much better than this
I need to find a girl who is so wonderful to kiss

I never claimed to be a gifted writer
The only gift I need is to be beside her
Whoever she may turn out to be she will be my special miss

I need to see beyond the stars in her eyes
To know that tomorrow will never have any lies
And she can pin to my heart her forever list

He thought one day it would stop but the harassment never ends
After many years have gone by no one wants to say
Why they still hate this man

Many view him as simple minded just a gullible soul
He keeps on being kind
They keep on being cold

Perhaps it was long ago around 2004 when he fell in love with a girl
And here in this small world people still find ways to put him to shame
And since his IQ is low and theirs is high his words are all in vain

What is there for him tomorrow
For in every turn of every road a sign is waiting to be sad
And all those who hate him all they can say is too bad

World only listens to a few great men time causes everything to fade away
People don't know where they're going only a few know where they've been
What will tomorrow bring who am I to say

Talk to a lady say miss how can I help you
She'll reply sir what is your name oh why do footprints always get lost
Somewhere in yesterday who am I to say

Both the sun and the moon are still up there
The seasons still keep changing and I still care
What lies on the horizon like it was written in a play who am I to say

Could we go for a sunday drive before every road takes us astray
Shall we talk of where we've been and how we got to this day
Who am I to say

Jesus is coming back
You know that's a fact
Anytime soon

The trumpets will surely sound
People dropping their cell phones to the ground
Anytime soon

Last text message read
Someone has raised the dead
Anytime soon

Earthquakes tsunami breaks
Before your shopping is done thy kingdom come
Anytime soon

If you should ever find out

How I wrote of you long ago

Please don't be offended
For in my heart love was surely real
And I wrote what heaven could feel

Waited for the reflection of prayer to fall to earth

What my greatest treasures in heaven are worth

Thank God for music it can bring me from despair
And makes me wonder
If there is love somewhere

It can stir my soul move my feet
And even make me smile
It can bring back memories of when I was a child

Thank God for music a tender love song or rock and roll
And what about some country
That's made of pure gold

Beethoven had his day Mozart had his too
And their music still lingers on
Good things always do

Thank God for music he gave me this to sing to you
I hope it makes you smile
Like good angels always do
