Yesterday is a lifetime
Today was my friend for an hour
Tomorrow's always waiting at the door

I've been wading through the water
And the tide keeps bringing me back to yesterday
I've forgotten what I was looking for
And tomorrow's always waiting at the door

I need a Noah's ark to escape this flood
If the sky would open and send down heavens love
I always want to tell you that I love you more
And tomorrow's always waiting at the door

Replacement I don't know
Is it time I let her go
It was just a dream anyway
She never really had anything to say
And I'm feeling low

Could there even be
Someone else meant for me
It seams time keeps telling me
What I don't want to know

Replacement is it just a word
There's nothing new
I've seen or heard
Since time was long long ago

In my heart love became a flaw
For I loved her most of all
Though her memory keeps compelling me

They want to show him to the door

And while some have it all
He always takes the fall

He didn't know how to write

Then she broke his heart

He had to get the pain out of his mind

She'll never read my poems

Years of writing years of fighting my heart
And no chance for a kiss

I would see a doctor but he wouldn't have a cure
Who could be as crazy as this
And the years are more and more here lately
And I'll never get a kiss

I've tried to stop but I can't hold out for long
No matter how I resist
Why do I write another song
That goes on an endless list

A penny for your thoughts
Was the look in her eyes
Now a penny isn't much
But it made me realize

Her love was a treasure
I needed to hold

Could you keep just one love song
Last letter is on the way but there's nothing new to say

Life is filled with many things
And chances come and go and gone

Some get the brass ring
Some grab the bull by the horn
Life is filled with many things

Time keeps running and then you get old
And you feel like something is wrong
