My mind is racing my mind is torn
I lie here waiting for the morning sunlight to be my alarm
The firmness of the ground is a cowboy's bed
I pour another cup of coffee my eyes are still red
It's been a few days since I left that town
Wondering if I will ever settle down
But I must be like the roving wind
My destiny might be around another bend
Riden' and ropen'
Driving cattle to and fro
Drifting and dreaming
As the days keep trying to make me old
Get along little doggie going down the chisholm trail
A cowboy is always lonely he never gets any mail
There's a mighty lot of cattle to drive to and fro
Drifting and dreaming as the days keep trying to make me old

Is anything slow anymore
A slow day a slow way
A feeling of belonging to a place and time
Now try to rest your mind
In the land of milk and honey
Is there anybody
Somebody who can tell me for sure
Is anything slow anymore
Sunrise sunset fast train fast jet
And the newsman reports the news faster than you can place a bet
That everything is going down the drain
People don't even know your name
Now it's digital preplanned programmed
Life has become just a scam
And here am I
Wondering who I am
We use to live on less
Now we can't live on more
Now time is faster than regret will it ever be like before
Is anything slow anymore

Her hair was tied back as she jogged along
She looked at me as I drove away
Her blonde hair shinning in the sun I'm dreaming as I drive on
And it seems so right that a beautiful girl goes along with a beautiful day
A couple miles down the road my mirror looks so bare
But the memory is going to stay
And it seems so right
That a beautiful girl goes along with a beautiful day
Her eyes must have been blue
Cause the sky above is filled with that kind of love
How she could change the month of march to the month of may
Yes a beautiful girl goes along with a beautiful day

I don't like the numbness in my brain
I don't like the poverty in my name
Destiny was never here
And I could never tell where
No vibe to guide no wave to ride
No choice but to collide with pain
And the sound that's mine to cry
It always sounded the same
From a poor boy to a poor man
In a poor land where the wind carried me like the sand
And between a rock a hard place is where I got caught
With no luck and nothing to add up pull on the reins and call it naught
After plowing ground I can turn around and see that very little grew
And the only change my hair is less my hair is gray my chances left are few
So write it down write it right write it wrong write a song
Just another dream another chance to sing another day has come and gone

Talk to me slowly you should know me
Trust my reply even when you are blue as the sky
Never let your heart be a pretender
When love is real we both surrender
Words of love will never grow old
Ours is a love story that's never been told
And as we walk together our eyes will see the future bright
Eternity will be our treasure and God will give it to us with his delight
When magic is something only your heart can hold
A magic love story that's never been told
One day when we tell it angels will decorate heaven just right
And then together we will tell it with delight

Goody Mcgordy also know as shorty
Had a sporty car
His girlfriend was Sandra Mcfana also known as Hannah
Had a little guitar
So Shorty and Hannah went to Montana
To play in a rockin band
Swore he'd never leave her, but then he met Rita Mcfever
And there was a sudden change of plans
So Shorty and Rita and viva las vegas fast as they can
The top was down didn't take long to get a tan
With the radio on Rita knew that Shorty was an Elvis fan
In vegas just a little while Shorty became a gambling man
He lost everything he lost Hannah and Rita
And even his sporty car
He can't get a ride walking in the desert and late in the evening
He stumbled across little pieces of a little guitar

I can't travel to a far away land
But I can do online shopping once a week
I'll never get a chance to sing with a country band
Nashville will never call me to come and live on easy street
I can't go out on a date with a rich woman if you know what I mean
So I stay home instead
They say you're never to old to dream
But I dream alone in my bed
Early morning bring the sunlight through my window on my favorite spot
I'll be in my chair waiting to take a drink of coffee for it will still be too hot
And then the only thing I will think of that would be kind of neat
I can do online shopping once a week

Once upon a time there was an imaginary land
With imaginary women and imaginary men
And long ago when I was a little boy this is what an old man told me
He told me about the mighty men of moley moley
They were like super hero's stronger than Hercules and Superman
They stood so tall they placed rainbows in the sky
And when the people asked for the rest of the day to be clear and dry
The clouds were parted with just the wave of a hand
There was always peace and harmony the women there sang so beautifully
No other kingdom ever dared to talk of war the old man could say no more
But the look in his eyes maybe it wasn't imaginary what he told me
And now it's left to me to tell the story of the mighty men of moley moley

The clouds are moving fast tonight
There's a fast southernly blowing wind
Other than that everything is quiet
And the man is in the moon again
All of a sudden something stirred up the frogs by the pond
I guess it's time for me to be moving on
With my little dog he's my best friend
And as we look up the man is in the moon again
Off in a distance I see a few lights in the little town
And farther still I hear this faint sound
In a little while the train will be coming round the bend
And as we quickly cross the tracks the man is in the moon again

Counting on the church bells to ring in that little town
Counting on the peace that they bring with their gentle sound
Walking on the sidewalk by the street heaven can be found
Counting on the church bell to ring in that little town
The clouds up above cover that little town with love so graciously
Bright colored leaves dancing in the breeze of fall as they fall around me
The town clock doesn't work it's always stays on three
Counting on the church bell to ring in that little town and give hope for eternity
And when it's raining I won't be complaining and the reason why
When I'm in my car and go passing by
I roll my window down
Counting on the church bells to ring in that little town

I don't know how it comes to me but surprisingly it's there
Words I see words I write and words I've got to share
I'll never be on a yacht just a little sailboat
And always a breeze that's only fair
It's never sleek never suave the captain never sleeps
He only takes a nap forgets where puts the map
And he doesn't seem to care it's just a little sailboat
And the breeze is always only fair
Looking up he sees the sky is blue
Looking down he sees a little hole and he needs a little glue
Suddenly the sky turns red so sailor beware
It's just a little sailboat and the breeze is always only fair

Her gentle fingers on my face
Bringing me to morning life
I need that kind of wife
I hope that doesn't sound selfish
And I would tell her I love her every time I hold her
And every morning after breakfast was over
I would sit there starring
At this wonderful light
I need that kind of wife
No words would be spoken and looks would be like a treasure
With a magical spell of everything that's right
I need that kind of wife
Just a little more coffee I'll be high as a kite
I'm getting older but I still need to see her hair fall off her shoulder
I need that kind of wife
