A poem that's not good enough
A brain that's not smart enough
A talent that's just not there
A pen in hand anyway
Helps to pass the time away
Whether mediocre or fair
Connections not good enough
Funds not rich enough
A social life that's just not there
A pen in hand anyway
Helps to pass the time away
And when I'm through I'll look at the wall and just stare
Not fair and stare
Not fair and stare
Not fair and stare
Not fair and stare

An old farmhouse and a fan in the window
The sun is just rising and sunlight is falling
Onto the kitchen floor
Biscuits and gravy are waiting on the table
Rolled up sleeves washed hands
A life I knew from the cradle amen
And the only thing that needs to be said
Is being said by the fan in the window
And off in the distance is the sound of an old pickup truck
And this is good mighty good Lord thank you for waking me up
The dishes will soon be done and work is just outside the door
And when dinner time rolls around the fan in the window
Will seem a little quieter cause we are talking more

The lady is very lonely
Doesn't she feel the tears on her cheek
Too bad he left her somewhere on this lonely street
One of her high heels has broken so she walks on her bare feet
The rain has started falling and soon blue memories will be calling
As she walks on the sidewalks of this lonely street
She waves at a taxi he pulls to her side
The raindrops help her tears to hide
Now she's safe and warm sitting in the backseat
The taxi driver is thinking she don't remember me
It seems like a puff of smoke but it was long ago when she said
A taxi driver is all I'll ever be

Never mind what to say let your eyes do the talking
Never mind right or wrong
Let your eyes do the forgiving
Never mind once we were young and now we are getting old
Just look at me and let your eyes
Touch my soul
I'm no good at this I know and if I keep writing I'll never let you go
Is it wrong should I say so long
Let your eyes do the forgiving
Let your eyes read this love story and when you feel you could cry
Let your eyes do what no one really wants to do
Let your eyes surrender to goodbye

In the lovely town of you and me
People live so happily
The presence of somewhere special is in the air
Smiling faces are everywhere
An early morning cup of coffee
And in the afternoon maybe a cup of tea
Everything is going swell would you stop and sit for a spell
In the lovely town of you and me
The park has lots of pretty flowers
With little shelters for little showers and when raindrops fall
It's no mystery why couples fall in love
In the lovely town of you and me
No there is not much to do
Talk and be yourself and if you want slip off your shoes
Conversations happen naturally
In the lovely town of you and me

No need for sad poems
A millionaire is not going to give me money
To brighten up my life
And make all my days be sunny
The rich have jets and yachts
They don't want sad poems that might spoil their day
Smart people got what they got
And dumb guys write sad poems anyway
No more sad poems
They are just a waste of time
And after all I'm not sad enough
To turn to a life of crime

Mandela effect what's it all about
Either it is or it isn't once I was for sure
But now I have some doubts
Are there any old history teachers still around
I need someone to clear up my mind
Of all the crazy things I've accidently found
I'd better check my brand of coffee
It doesn't seem to be waking me up
Why do I suddenly have 3 different favorite cups
How many things can change so fast
What happened to the past it's hard for me to recall
Who's to say anyway if I really wrote this poem at all
So if you didn't know about this before
You'll have fun finding out you were wrong
I won't say anymore but welcome to the mandela zone

I write to much cause there's no one to talk with
And when I'm not writing I think to much
Cause there's no one to talk with
And lonely is an everyday problem
With no solution in sight
The strangers that I meet have no reason to be polite
The sidewalks are filled with empty
I hear barking dogs that don't want me around
I don't go searching for lonely but I find it in every town
I daydream to much cause there's no on to talk with
And when I'm not daydreaming I sleep to much
Cause I don't sleep good at night
And lonely is an everyday problem
With no solution in sight
The street I'm on goes on and then I take another right

Sadness falls like snow
A blanket upon the ground
Where footsteps may go
A place where love once had been
And memories no wind could blow away
If love be but for a day
I think I feel the stillness left to say
Some hurdles too high for the heart but what do I know
Sometimes sadness falls like snow

Silly but she wants me to write
And she's not being true to me
Even though she's far away her esp is hard to fight
It's silly so silly but she wants me to write
There needs to a stop to this
I should try to resist
I've had none of her lovin'
Not even one little kiss
Does she have some magic potion
Or is talking to that heavenly man
I got a notion but I don't understand is there no end in sight
Yes it's sounds so silly but she wants me to write
There have been countless letters before
Why would she want one more
Maybe someday I'll tie them all to a kite
She'll pull the string and I'll sing silly but she wants me to write

In the middle of nowhere
Seldom seen seldom heard
There lived a man known as me
He wrote a little poetry sang songs to himself
He had a lot of old memories but no one to share with
So in the library of his mind they stayed on a shelf
He never had a break through to overcome and stand proud
Jus a few introductions no need to be the man known as me
Was never even painted in a crowd
There's a two lane highway if there you should ever be
In which direction seldom seen seldom heard
There lived a man known as me

There was old prospector he rode everywhere
Searching for gold he could never find
Until one day when he met her
And the gold in her heart made him go blind
But he was too late
And so much for fate
He rode away so sad
Thinking of all the gold he could never have
Disappearing into the sunset
And under the stars he sat by a campfire alone
The old prospector on his knees he wept
Praying to God and knowing all the gold was gone
