on the rose petals
sparkling with the morning sun
bright dewdrop diamonds
beneath the streetlight
glistening on the snowflakes
sparkling white diamonds
on the ripples
shimmering in the sunshine
dancing water diamonds

Love that is genuine, faithful and true
Inspiring the human spirit to a level that is
Supreme and filled with joy and ecstasy
Saturating it with pure and heavenly bliss

Soothing sound of the murmuring breeze
Entwined with the sound of rustling leaves
Refreshing my tired worn-out spirit
Energising it with the soothing bliss of
Nature's comforting balm of peacefulness
Inducing a deep state of tranquillity
Transporting me to a world of beauty as I
Yield to its deep and peaceful serenity

blue is the colour that we see
staring at space into infinity
a blue sky appearing up above
denotes fine weather that we love
a blue ribbon for a performance
implies a standard of excellence
a blue jeans is a common garment
that is found on every continent
a bluebird is a symbol of bliss
which signifies true happiness
a blue moon indicates an event
that is extremely infrequent
true blue signifies deep loyalty
to a cause or person that is worthy
a blue sky reflected in the blue sea
paints a picture of perfect harmony

I live
When in wonder
I look around me
And behold
The Beauty of Nature
I live
When in Quietude
I lay down
And contemplate
Beauty in Life
I live
When I see
An act of Love
No matter how small
It may be
I live
When in meditation
I am transported to a world
Where Truth and Beauty
Reign supreme

They that Love
Must expect to Weep
For Tears are Rain
That make the Heart
Grow Fonder

About this poem:
I read these words in a "Love" comic book when I was an adolescent. In the story, two young people fell deeply in love and were blissfully happy. The girl found an antique cup on which she saw the first part of these words written: "They that Love Must expect to Weep" She showed it to the boy and they both made fun of the writing, saying that their love was so strong and beautiful that such a thing could never happen to them. Sure enough, they had some misunderstanding which led to their break-up, heartbreak and tears. Eventually, they made up and experienced a deeper feeling of love. Later that the girl realized that there was some more writing on the other side of the cup: "For Tears are Rain That make the Heart Grow Fonder". It was only then that they realized the true meaning of what was written.
(This is my message to our beloved "Love Poets" who seem to be having a bad spell at present).

In Silence
I sit and Ponder
The Mystery Of SELF
in this vast mysterious universe
What Am I?
What is anyone?
I Exist
at least I believe I exist
I see the world through my eyes
But what are my eyes?
Are they just the product
of the history of my life?
Are the eyes of others
just products of
the history of their lives?
What Am I?
What is anyone?

In the perspective of infinite time
and infinite space
the natural order prevails
there are no problems
only the absolute and ultimate reality
of the cosmos

Falling in love for the first time
can be very exciting at the start
But such love is usually not long-lasting
and may lead to a broken heart
A person whose heart has been broken
seeks a love that is more mature
When found such love heals the broken heart
and is more beautiful and likely to endure

After the storm, trees that were bending with the strain
Will regain their posture and stand erect again
After the storm, birds that flew away to find shelter
Will return and sing their songs even sweeter
After the storm, the howling wind that raged with fury
Will turn into a gentle breeze to calm your agony
After the storm, the sun will shine once more
And comfort you like it never did before
After the storm, you will smile with no pain
And find the love in your heart to move on again

About this poem:
I wish to dedicate this to all who have suffered due to storms, especially the recent Super Typhoon Haiyan which is believed to be the most intense storm to ever make landfall.

The rugged bark of an old tree
with imperfection due to its cracks
is a wondrous thing of beauty
and it's the imperfection that attracts
We know that a star-shaped flower
does not make a perfect star
Yet it has a certain loveliness
that induces a sense of wonder
A hand-crafted ceramic bowl
because of its asymmetry
is a wonderful artefact
that is valued very highly
An old-time cobblestone street
has a unique charm and quaintness
due to its imprecise pattern
that gives it it's loveliness
Perfection is not easy to attain
and even more difficult to sustain
Beauty lies in imperfection
and they are a natural combination

While gazing at the sky
A gnat flew in my eye
Causing me to wince in pain
Using the faucet spout
I tried to flush it out
So I could see clear again
When the gnat was dislodged
It came out very smudged
Like a soggy wet wheat grain
When next I watched the sky
A bird pooped in my eye
So I had to flush again
I must be unlucky
For what happened to me
Because it had me in pain
So when birds are on high
And there are gnats nearby
Caution I have to maintain
Humour Haiku
dog sniffing the grass
searching for the perfect spot
to have a poop

About this poem:
We have had several poetry challenges recently. How about one on humour? I do not like to think of it as a challenge. I prefer to think of it as sharing, i.e., Humour Share.
