Bed Time

10:26
He sighs....the night is almost over..
A glass, four pieces of ice, a fork, chocolate syrup, and milk.
A routine far too precise for this time of night and done out of habit for reason long forgotten. As he slowly gulps, He thinks of her... with time in short hand he wonders if she is thinking of him, her last thought as she is his.
10:45
Three pillows, no socks, a made bed, and the fan on…
She’s still there pulling at his mind as he reaches for her hesitant not to reach too far. Not too far never too far, worried to seem too involved but it’s feeble with every nerve pleading to feel her touch. Every sweet word pours over his thoughts demanding his fingers to compose a sweet poetry of the scattered beauty of this mess. His feelings then beat in place by his own instinct to hold back.
11:11
Like over planning a simple task his own insecurities judging his feeling as if they had a mind of their own casting verdict on every phrase he fights an uphill battle to just move a foot forward. The responsibility of sleep tugging away at his mind and body he compromises with all of it and sends a simple message.
"Good Night you..
11:25
after the bubble pop of the message she sends back also a simple "sweet dreams" he will read and reread the message cut short only to utter after it confessing the true ending "wish you were mine".

In or Out

Her...You have your heart back together, but the glue is still wet. You’re over him but not the hurt and you now fear that feeling that the next boy will do the same. So you do what seems natural and up goes the walls. To you the walls are protection. A boy comes along, his efforts impress you. No harm here the walls has done what you needed them to do, give you enough strength to smile. He wants to see that smile now more and more, you notice it. Now….all of a sudden every reason you put your walls up hit you in the heart, all the pain is back. The boy is doing everything right, he holds your hand and it fits perfect. When he kisses you, you have to make yourself breathe. Yet it has to be too good to be true. Now you are questioning his intent. What is his past, why is he single. . This feeling that is stopping you is what will push him away. The walls you put up did do what you needed but what you over looked was what the walls were keeping in. You have now put this boy, which is all about you, on the same pedestal that the boy that destroyed you is on.........
Him.........You have your heart back together, but the glue is still wet. You’re over her but not the hurt and you now fear that feeling that the next girl will do the same. So you do what seems natural to you, and hope sets in. To you the hope is your answer. A girl comes along, her efforts impress you. No harm here the hope has done what you needed it to do; it gave you enough strength to smile. She wants to see that smile now more and more, you notice it. Now….all of a sudden all your hope fills you with happiness, there are no worries. The girl is doing everything right, she holds your hand and it fits perfect. When she kisses you, you have to make yourself breathe. Yet it has to be too good to be true because now she is questioning your intent. What is your past, why are you single. . This feeling that is bringing you down is what will push you away. The hope that you had used to get yourself to smile, did do what you needed but what you over looked were her walls. You have now put yourself on the same pedestal that the boy that hurt her is on.
So in or out is the question, what is better building a wall that makes you feel protected from the boy that wants to love you, or having hope that there is a girl that will let you love her.

Why the Lottery

He drives seventy miles to work, the lottery is 26 million, and the things he would do. He thinks of the ranch style house, with the wrap around porches. It’s a long drive, long enough to put real details in this daily daydream. The driveway is lined with pecan tree’s not the typical cherry blossoms. He sets the layout so he could accommodate his interests, years of this. He does not do this because he wishes for a different life. He’s not ashamed of what he has. He’s a proud person, loves his family, enjoys his job, and lives a simple life.

Today he started the daydream different….”She’s beautiful”, he smiles, and “Just do it” he says.
He drives seventy miles to work, the lottery is 26 million, and all he can think about is how to tell her good morning. It’s such an easy thing to do, two words, a simple gesture. “Good Morning” but she is today’s daydream, time to put seventy miles of detail in to it. First impression was pure perfection, he can look at her sideways and she still seems to be such a reach for him. She’s beautiful and deserves to be told every day. Now three words, "Good Morning Beautiful" that is simple enough, if it were a ten mile daydream. Second impression, her smile matches her eyes, so addictive that he does not even have to close his eyes to imagine them, and he smiles. Show her that… :) Good Morning Beautiful that will work it says good morning, lets her know he thinks she is beautiful, and the :) should show that thinking about her first thing in the morning makes him smile. Twenty miles left, I wonder if she likes pecan trees. He adds two rocking chairs on the porch. He sets the layout so he could accommodate their interests, years of this. He does not do this because he wishes for a different life. He’s not ashamed of what he has. He’s a proud person, loves his family, enjoys his job, and lives a simple life.

Today he started different…the reach is now next to him.
As he goes to leave for his seventy mile daydream, He smiles, whispers “Good morning beautiful”, and kisses her forehead. She does not budge. He just looks at her and says to himself, “My 26 million”…

People win the lottery; everyday someone has a chance to make a daydream come true
