The Girl From Anywhere USA

Twenty four hours a day
Men see her pass in their direction
Loaded down with packages and wisdom anyway
That invites continuous respect instead of correction.

Looking out into space
Her eyes are not steady for a reason
Perhaps her memories will not allow a trace
For sounds of awareness to create a new season.

Coming closer together like space ships passing in the night
Impulse is the teacher once again
Conditions are divided once again in the areas of dark and light
As shyness overtakes the courage trend.

Inches become feet and feet become yards
As the twosome moves away never to become one
Through a lucky draw of social playing cards
As individual plans for the day remain important under the sun.

About this poem:
Both men and women in the course of everyday living as strangers may pass people on the street who may enhance their individual lives in a special way. Caught up in the daily tasks at hand people not thinking at all about social contact move on separated forever from the unique opportunity that was never consumated.

Social Evaporation

Checking out your profile I send you a few lines
One of many suitors in search of elusive love so divine
You answered my initiative with a sense of energy that this time it was for real
A hidden sense inside your psyche assumed this was the emotional high I too would be able to feel.

We exchanged photos and were impressed by the images in front of our view
Common interests were several in the thoughts we exchanged as far as we both knew
Questions concerning our future were put out for both parties to see
Almost ready to announce to the world a new couple in the near future we intended to be.

A blank screen became my companion for several days in a row
Expected success in the game of love had apparently lost its everlasting glow
Reviewing my past overtures for any mistakes I had made
Just another notch on your belt for someone else who failed again to earn a passing grade.

Testing Our Vulnerability

Opening words of introduction always the same
Touching an emotional nerve of an unknown; just playing a game
An only child in a one parent household for many years
Thoughts of bad relationships in the past; holding back the tears.

Complimentary words of connection like freshly fallen flakes of snow
With each succeeding e mail; a promising relationship takes seed and begins to grow
Asking questions; always receiving satisfactory answers in return
Setting up the patsy on the other end; ready to get burned.

An opportunity for a meeting after returning from a foreign land
A small favor is necessary; the Romeo hopefully will be eager; according to my plan
The monetary sum requested in the message; Mr Head Over Heels should be willing to pay
Silence on the computer means I've chased another potential victim away.

About this poem:
A free website combines opportunity along with hidden dangers based upon vulnerability. Women of manipulation constantly attempt to lure men into false payments of assistance under the pretense that romantic feelings actually exist. When women complain about the violent nature of men this poem provides a vivid example of their manipulative cruelty.

Falling Off Mt. Olympus

Attracted by your opinions on a variety of issues
Mood swings from tossing hand grenades to reaching for tissues
Complementary remarks in my direction that I was one of a select few
Had me voluntarily paying closer attention to you.

Similarities between us quickly came to mind
Out of all the available women; you to me; were quite a find
Suddenly a day of silence followed by other days lined up in a neat row
Premature thoughts of future unification; with this silly idea; "Where do I now go?"

During my free fall I thought there must be someone out there more sophisticated than me
Someone to devote your overwhelming love to instead of consolation sympathy
At the base of another mountain again I collect my thoughts in another ascending moment in the direction of the sky
A future setting for two in a rose garden is virtually impossible unless you try.

About this poem:
Hope springs eternal everytime you establish communication. Happiness in the future is always impossible if the opportunity is constantly severed soon after the moment of birth.

A Casual Affair

A new friend in my life I wanted you to be
Dateless weekends would become part of my past history
Out on the dance floor two pairs of feet moving slowly to a favorite song
With no strings attached how could either of us go wrong?

At a sporting event supporting a favorite team
No longer having loneliness to contend with; living the American Dream
Whenever I became hungry my new friend always at my side
Discussing common interests a source of mutual pride.

Off together to the theatre a new feature to see
Close together in physical harmony on a couch watching a rental DVD
For an extended period of time everything was mutual bliss
Unfortunately from her side there was an issue I apparently has missed.

While she was youthful; Father Time was not on my side
Control over someone's future not acceptable as I allowed patience to be my guide
Explaining my reasons; a look of unhappiness covered her non believing eyes
After a final embrace; both of us sadly got to try additional heartache on for size.

About this poem:
Friendship is more important than marriage. Many good people are pushed aside in the continuing quest for that SPECIAL someone. Partial happiness is NEVER enough for some people. IDEALISM acts as a smoke screen in the continuing quest for social satisfaction.

A Second Date

My first glimpse of her had me wondering what were my chances
My empty plate had me pushing buttons in search of new romances
Taking my time, measuring my words, I moved forward in my quest
Hiding my anxiety, despite the odds, I managed to receive the answer "Yes".

A picnic among the trees with green grass and cool breezes serving as witnesses to our initial review
Words of endearment accompanied by irregular bites of tasty morsels as our time together really flew
Hand in hand together we departed the location where two hearts beat as one
Looks of satisfaction etched upon our faces giving joy to the moments
together we had fun.

Upon separation a promise was given for a second call
Both of us no longer socially isolated joyfully bidding farewell to the wall
Her ear listening attentively for the magic ring of her phone
Seizing the moment for continuity, or temporarily leaving her by herself, or perhaps forever alone.

About this poem:
Women always have control over men. The only moment when a man has an advantage is when the opportunity for a second date arises. At this time the woman is wondering "Will he call"?; "Will he keep me waiting"?; "Should I play hard to get"?; "Is this the beginning of something special"? Unfortunately many men have trouble getting "First Dates" so the "Temporary Advantage Mode" for them never materializes. The bottom line concerning love is always filled many times incorrectly by women.

Commitment: The Road To Disappointment

All of my friends have settled down except for me
Perhaps living as an old maid in isolation is my appointed destiny
A continuing victim of liars, scammers, and players always looking to have fun
My romantic life always on hold; amid the clouds no room for the sun.

I see a prospect; causing me to move forward to dive into the romantic pool
Realizing too late the absence of water I am taken for a fool
I throw out my astrological sign with all the psychological baggage stored there within
Making many promises regarding family aspirations in my reign of isolation, despite many doubts, still hoping to win.

Day after day I press forward my desires upon the available screen
Hoping after a set period of time to finally finalize my dream
This system of behavior should bring my lucky other quickly into the fold
Never noticing amid a cloud of dust he is quickly running away from me down the nearest road.

About this poem:
Anxiety is a killer for all romance. People have to be patient to treat opportunity as a mechanism for growth and development rather then as a firing tool to strike quickly when the situation is hot. Knowledge is power. When the blind begin courting the blind only detours may result. Happiness replaces pain only when couriosity is fulfilled to the highest degree.

Commitment: The Road To Success

Curious eyes daily scanning the profiles on the screen
Searching anxiously hoping to fill an as yet unanswered romantic dream
The search momentarily centers upon one promising soul
Words of sweetness ready to be offered forth to acquire temporary control.

Time remains the main ingredient to win a receptive heart
Patience along with many questions requiring answers the foundation for a good start
Good looks and flowers will never save the day
Preventing hidden thoughts of caution from getting in the way.

Distance, age, and communication the anchors of the tripod of simplicity
Allowing both parties room to analyze each other with a sense of dignity
After the photos and many e mails have come forth under mutual review
The moment for a face to face meeting finally arrives on the premise of "I'm beginning to really know you".

About this poem:
Commitment is the magic word for the ladies. Patience is the key. Without it many potential romances fall by the wayside because the ladies are too assertive too quickly. Questions based upon a need to know will propel you in the direction of possibility or early separation.

Distance Builds Additional Walls Of Isolation

Your presence just a picture frozen in my mind
Attracted by your tale of loneliness; for all of us a common design
Your curiosity is aroused as if I am just a few blocks away
Geography dictates across many lifetimes our unfulfilled dreams will ultimately pay.

Photographs alone cannot adequately relate the tale
Of missed opportunities that make our future expectations appear colorless and pale
Vintage eyes of blue search continuously across the waves
Forgetting at times that common agreements of necessity alone; a relationship can save.

Frozen in the seasons of tradition we follow a general course
Fighting the ongoing siege of reality; our life dominated admission of remorse
A half eaten plate of happiness we push it gently aside
Holding on to our old proven convictions; allowing stubbornness to remain our guide.

Convenience is our good luck charm; held closely under lock and key
We want our success stories; after long periods of emotional turmoil; to turn out quite easily
Day after day we resume our quest looking for a compatable spark
Nothing ever comes without difficulty to any one of us involved in mutual affairs of the heart.

About this poem:
All the world is a stage. We view perspective friends living at all corners of the globe. Reality prohibits our dreams from coming true. Nothing comes easy for many of us. We struggle on on a daily basis hoping for a solution to our problems. E mail correspondence alone just will not do. Activism is required for contacts to bear fruit. Many pantries remain barren during the harvest season.

Parting Company: Now Or Later

Ingredients for a relationship I offer to you
Prior to meeting me you now have a clue
Putting your mouse to work you send me a few lines
Expecting in the weeks ahead everything will be fine.

I present my reasons behind entering this site
You; meanwhile assume the wrongs of your past will now turn out right
Your reasons for connection force me now to break away
The level of anguish increases with every additional passing day.

The pain of non acceptance is devastating on both sides
Seeking comfort in the company of a close friend to heal wounded pride
Searching continuously for companionship not wishing to lead someone falsely on
Feeling I did the right thing although in my heart it seems very wrong.

About this poem:
The search for social companionship sometimes causes someone to spend additional time on the site. You go through many candidates in your search. Someone responds in a positive way. Your happiness is short lived as you discover your reasons for connection do not match those of the other party. With heavy heart you break off the connection before the intensity increases possibly leading to a tragic outcome.

Looking For A Sugar Daddy

Thoughts of poverty like a cloud hanging over me
My children with their needs for survival growing; questioning my mastery
As continuing setbacks in life have my fortunes down on the canvas for the count of nine
Another adult in the household becomes my daily business to find.

My message of hope places a few basic requirements on the table
Lokking for dollar signs from a select few who consider themselves able
A few meetings develop for candidates attracted to my rescue plan
A standard level of chivalry expected from the charismatic to the obviously boring and bland.

I settle upon one while expressing sincere thanks to the rest
Choosing a middle of the road applicant instead of the best
Living day to day like many others part of a national trend
If my satisfaction is not complete I'll just have to start looking again.

About this poem:
Desperate times demand desperate solutions. Money seems to be the answer to problems most of the time. Short term solutions may or may not work out. A big bank account triumphs over a big heart.

Held Captive By A Thing Called Love

His physical presence excited my very soul
A night of passion allowed him to take complete control
On call for him twenty four hours a day
Never dreaming in the future people worrying about my safety would pray.

People took notice of us several times a week
His muscles matched up well with my curves oh so sleek
Looking back now it seemed oh so funny
That people on our future would bet all their money.

The first time he grabbed me and gave me a piece of his mind
Tears flowed freely later on denying my prince was the hurting kind
His apologies later so sincere begging for a second chance
Really wanting complete domination controlling our private love dance.

My beautiful image like a magnet inviting other fellas to score
Where control and abuse are permitted in the games of love and war
Though my future may be cloudy a triumph in my life must be won
It's time to part company; time to move on.
