You want honest opinion,well here is mine. A couple things: I don't know what "honest to a fault" means and you like to use that. The photo of you shows a nice face...men are very visual. We want to see you and not the beach or mountains etc. Keep it simple and tell who you are and what you are looking for. Finding someone special is not an easy job but we must commit.

In my honest opinion your profile picture needs to be of you smiling. You have a nice smile. Also pictures of a guy with his shirt off is off putting to a lot of women. Just be yourself the right lady will respond.

If you created a profile with the intention of describing yourself then it meets all expectations. If you intended to create a version of yourself then you have failed. I personally love it!

the general quality of men on dating sites is quite low.The higher your standards are the least 'connections' you will get. Less connections means less chances on sparks.
It also numbs things down. I would have probably give up the chase early.
