RE: Places on Earth 122

This is the Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park, USA.

Water heated far down comes to the surface. The center of the spring is warmest, and no life can live there, hence it looks blue, which is the color of sterile water. Further out, algae give the color. Different algae are best adapted to different temperatures; some have a high content of red/orange carotenoids ("carrot color"), while others specialize more on green chlorophyll. These live at different intermediate positions between the warm center and the cold surroundings.

This is the diamond mine in Mirna, Siberia, Russia.

It was 525 meter deep and is more than one kilometer wide.

It is said to be the second largest man made hole in the world.

RE: St Patrick

The most religious men get to wear long dresses and funny hats :-)

This seems to be some type of reward for believing that The Invisible Man sent his "son", who had another father, to be tortured and killed one week end so that billions of other shall be forgiven and not punished for their crimes.

We "know" this from an ancient book filled with religious mass murders, rules for how we shall treat our slaves, contradictions, obvious errors, torture, incest, extreme cases of polygamy, misogyny, unfairness, discrimination and so on.

who grasps your small babies
and smashes them against the rock"

RE: Hotel mas grande del mundo: LA MECA

This is the Abraj Kudai hotel in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. It will have 10 000 rooms when it is finished. It should have opened in 2017, but a crane accident killing 107 workers, plus fiancial problems, have pushed the opening to around 2019/2020.

It is close to the pilgrim target in Mecca, so during the pilgrim season it will certainly be in high demand. What will happen the rest of the year is more unclear.

RE: SHARE YOUR LOVE TO ALL

Mother Teresa's clinics received millions of dollars in donations but lacked medical care, systematic diagnosis, necessary nutrition and sufficient analgesics for those in pain.

Mother Teresa believed that "the sick must suffer like Christ on the cross".

It has been said about Mother Teresa that she was not a friend of the poor. She was a friend of poverty. She said that suffering was a gift from God.

She spent her life opposing a main cure for poverty, which is the empowerment of women and the emancipation of them from a livestock version of compulsory reproduction.

RE: JESUS LOVE

There is something strange about being in love with a dead person...

There is something strange about believing in an invisible man...

There is something strange in having feelings in a heart, which is a muscle...

There is something strange in believing in a book full of religious mass murders, rules for how we shall treat our slaves, laws that prescribe death penalty for "crimes" like gathering firewood on the "wrong" day of the week, obvious errors, contradictions, unverified "wonders" and so on.

A "god" who drowned all people on the earth apart from a 600 year old man and his family, how nice is he really?

There are many more than 1000 different religions in the world, with a total of many more than 100,000 different gods. Is there any reason to believe that one of them exists and that all the others are fake?

Well, according to many Christians I will burn in hell forever anyway, so why bother :-)

RE: R.I.P Nikolai Volkoff

Nikolai Volkoff participated in the weird "sport" of "wrestling", where actors pretend to fight.

Nikolai Volkoff was given the role as "bad guy", a communist from Russia. This is ironic, since he came from Croatia in Yugoslavia, and since he fled from communism.

I was very upset when first saw this picture and paid attention to the dates that surprised me. I cannot find the exact information on her death. Nobody says what happened and why this young girl died. R.I.P.sigh
