The dog refused to leave the cemetery,and lay on his masters grave,in all weathers.Local people feeling sorry for the animal built a shelter by the graveside.Bobby remained in the cemetery for 14 years,only leaving to visit the coffee house each day at noon,as he had done with his master.There the landlord would feed him.
The little terrier died in 1872,but had become such a favourite in the city,that a granite fountain,with a statue was erected in his memory
Now there are many things in Edinburgh,named after Greyfriars Bobby.The dog who became a Legend...
