solsticemoon: Well the response has been positive for a grand week/weekend of fun in the sun in Benidorm.
Many would like to make a week of it and some will be bringing children, so the venue has been picked with a view to several factors.
Easy access from the airport..Alicante airport is half an hour away.
Plenty of entertainment for kids and adults and keeping the costs down
There are hotels, bars and reasonably priced restaurants in abundance, places to party all night and good beaches.
Flights into Alicante can be found very cheaply at the moment and buses from the airport run at regular intervals.
Car hire for the week, for a decent hatchback is approx 110 euro's and apartments can be found from as little as 20 euro's per night.
Hotels start from around 50 euro's per night..
Whilst Benidorm is a popular party town, there are several beautiful and typically Spanish places to visit that can be reached within half an hour.
As yet a definate location for the initial meeting has not been chosen but it will be within The English Square as this is very close to the beach..(within 1000 metres) and provides plenty of lively entertainment.
Whilst Scousedon ran the original poll he has handed the organising over to me as I live in the area..(or he's a lazy beggar )
But either of us will be happy to help you should you have any queries...
Hopefully CS will have a sign up box on this thread within 24/36 hours so get your names on and lets all have a great time meeting old and new friends.
Should the thread "vanish" just check in the events and get togethers catagory.

scousedon: Ryanair have flights direct to Alicante from Pisa, Bologna, milan and venice.
Not sure though when they start. Maybe only a summer things .

London has 4 airports. Heathrow, Gatwick, Stanstead and Luton. The first two cover long haul destinations.However when going to Spain from London, Stanstead and Luton will be the most likely to use.

Not sure at the moment. May have to go and sell my apartment in Bulgaria so if I am not in Bulgaria I can go, but early days for me to make that decision yet.

I can get a nasty cheaop Ryan Air flight from Malta to Piza....... have a slice of pizza to eat and then 'tally ho' across to Alicante from there!
I love Ryan Air - you get what you pay for and that's ok for me as I refuse to travel first class when all that extra money could be spent on beer tokens or lovely loose women!
