Summer Get Together in the Knoxville Area. (217)

Yep, the date for the get together is 8/16/08.

If I'm feeling up to it, I'll run up to Norris lake this afternoon and look around, maybe take a few pics with my phone so everyone can get a look at the place.

And actually I didn't mean to infer that one needed an e-mail invite to come - it's open to everyone - but that if folks could think of anyone who maybe hasn't been online or hadn't seen the thread to go ahead and send 'em a quick note mentioning it.

Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to start a "sign-up thread" (with pics of the area) and we'll really get this thing off the ground.

We've gotten several good suggestions from the wonderful folks who've responded and we'll take everything into consideration and then decide on the best way to proceed.

I'm feeling a bit rough this morning, but ya'll keep your fingers crossed and maybe I get things rolling by this afternoon or tomorrow morning at the latest.


This is going to be sooooooo much fun! I can hardly wait!

Bob, I'll make you a deal: I'll order the weather if you'll deliver it!

Hopefully, where we're planning on having this 'to-do' weather won't be much of a factor. There are trees for shade, picnic shelters (in case it rains) and the Clinch River flowing out of Norris dam is about 42 degrees.

I'm going to try and have my canoe there just in case anyone wants to do a short - 1/2 mile or so - float and there are a couple of interesting sites (an old grist-mill museum amongst other things) nearby if anyone wants to check 'em out.

And I really, really, really hope you can make it down. Just take the 50/50 and subtract the half that doesn't look good, then I'll loan you 25% more good reasons and it'll be 75/25. Surely you can make it with odds like that?

And with good reason! Having had the honor of meeting Bob in person awhile back, I can honestly say that he's a damn fine man and may very well turn out to be the life of the party.

Not yet. I'm hoping to get a "Sign-up thread" started this weekend with pics of where we'll be getting together and then get it turned in as an official event.

With my health being what it has been lately, it's been kinda' tough to really get the ball rolling but I'm hoping that'll change soon and we'll really be able to give it the attention it deserves.

Bright beautiful afternoon here and I'm still feelin' too puny to do much of anything. BUT, I'm bound and determined to fishing in the morning and I can't think of a better spot than the area where we're planning to hold our get together.

So hopefully by this time tomorrow we'll have a sign-up thread, complete with pictures of the area and then turn it into an official event!
