ciotog: I'd like to say hello to folks so I'll stop by but probably not for that long (busy with work and I'm feeling anti-social anyway). Are you meeting for a coffee before hand or a drink after?
You just hung yourself! You have been complaining on posts that galway women wont meet you and now you have this chance and you are feeling anti social...qed!!!

Ok, you seem to be in a stomping mood this evening! I didn't realise I had been complaining so much so I'll apologise for that. In my defence though, I'm still going to show up, just likely to be a bit on the quiet side :)

Just feeling a bit on the defensive for the lady who booked her ticket and has been left high and dry. Last weekends cork meet when no one showed also stinging.... Neither involved me, but I feel bad. These things take nerve an effort.
I had read a thread or two where you said you had difficulty sorting a date.... now you have a gift horse and you dont feel social?

Quiet is fine... even great! But re read what you said.... anti social isn't quiet.

That's true, people who organise events as a goodwill gesture stick their neck out and it surely hurts to have it so casually cast aside.

I know, it's a crappy time to be feeling out of sorts when something like this is on. I'll go to bed with my fingers crossed and see if it all seems brighter in the morning!

I didn't mean to be offensive. I know how hard it is sometimes.... but that poor woman bought her ticket! Its not about you or me! Go and give her a great night!! X

Maybe I missed something, but I have never heard/read you complain about not getting a date ciotog?!?
Mammamia: When galwayman originally posted this i was suspicious that it was a marketing ploy.... now he is away hiking? ok.... Whatever! At lest own up...
Thats not a very nice thing to say !. Not going to explain to you why I cant be there tonight, but it's for a very good (but unfortunate) reason. Am back from hiking. And no it was not a marketing ploy. Are you always this suspicious of people trying to do something good ?

Thank for your concern Mammamia...but I am not a victim, I'm grown up and can handle my own issues...I feel you've been unfair to Galwayman...as I said before he was unable to go for emergency purposes...I have to come to his defence because he was really very nice about the whole thing and felt bad about having to cancell. I can handle going out on my own....I've done it for years now. I just want to make it clear that when I posted here it was only to keep the thread on top just incase someone might not know about the event or had forgotten about it...not for any other reason......so lets all just take a breath...and let it out...and go back to being happy little posters...ok?

As I continue reading through this thread, I am mortified...OMG...I only meant to see if anyone was interested in going...this is crazy...I don't need a date set up for me..I just wanted to REMIND people it was still happening and that I was going...and hoping someone would come, now I feel I should have just shut up about the whole thing...I am embarrased now...

Me thinks someone has been reading too many Dan Brown books
ciotog: McSwiggans at 7 - cool, I will pop in on the way home from work (unglam I'm afraid :) )
Fantastico!!!
ok..I'll log on later to see if any more stragglers are commin...hope to see more people comming!...there are plenty of seats left..or if you feel quiet you can just meet us for a drink before at 7pm at MC Swiggans in wood quay...Me and Little miss that is...gotta go
Why don't you organise a meet in Galway yourself? Then you wouldn't need the plutonium or the flux capacitor. I mean, where are you going to get a De Lorean these days? Or do you intend to use a steam engine? Think of the practicalities, man!
