Essential attitudes to have for developing a great relationship

What makes a relationship great and do you have the attitude to really create a great one in your life with another??

NE: attitudes 4,5,6,7 are extracts from "The Four Agreements" by author Don Miguel Ruiz... recommended reading

speak and act the truth at all times no matter what... for it is better to be judged on honesty and make a mistake than to speak with lies to hide them.

trust yourself to deal with whatever and whoever comes your way.

respect yourself and treat others with respect.

Be impeccable with your word

speak with integrity. Say what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.

Don't take anything personally

nothing others do is because of you. What others do or say is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and action of others, you wont be the victim of needless suffering.

Don't make assumptions

find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

Always do your best

your best is going to change from moment to moment, it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best and avoid self judgement, self abuse and regret.

values defines values as:

n : beliefs of a person or social group in which they have an emotional investment

morals defines morals as:

n : motivation based on ideas of right and wrong

A principle is an absolute, if you have a principle to guide you in moral behaviour then it is an absolute. ...

Seems like a lot of hard work doesn't it?? hahaha... but relationships are hard work... work in progress... what they really take is the desire to be aware and plenty of practise to be the best person you can be... and besides... nothing that was ever great, came easy... right?? lol

Thank you for sharing. In addition to this is having an open communication, it’s vital in a relationship so as not to ruin it. And willing to compromise too
Great post and thank you for sharing. In addition to this, is an open communication, it plays a big part in a relationship. And. Someone who is willing to compromise too.
Enjoyed the Blog.Something to think about
spot on/views.
4 - There are many instances where deprecating yourself is both necessary and desirable, such as putting others at ease and admitting to your genuine shortcomings.

5 - There are many instances where you are personally to blame and your actions repercuss upon others to which you are accountable for. Teamwork and civilisation depend on being personal and relating to others, not merely projecting what you feel/think onto everybody else.

6 - Bolshiness is not always the best policy, neither is asking too many questions. Don't be too eager to express what it is you want.

7 - You should be judgemental of yourself more than anything else. Self-criticism is a precondition of self-improvement.

4,5,6,7 are sophistic ways of teaching people to be solipsist(nothing exists but me)and selfish. Reality is not a dream and other people exist in the world and you are accountable to them.

Your own stuff is a lot more positive than the literature. You should burn your books.
Thank you for this post. It's essential for everyone to know a live by.
