Five of Hollywood’s Strongest Celebrity Couples
It can’t be easy maintaining a relationship when you’re a successful Hollywood movie star. The pressure to stay on top of your game, coupled with the endless temptations Tinsel town offers, must make it difficult for anyone in the business to be the sort of partner the average joe or jane wants to come home to. Perhaps that’s why some of the strongest relationships in Hollywood are those in which both parties are in the movie industry. The following five celebrity couples are examples of how a partnership might just benefit from both parties being in the same business.

Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn
Perhaps it’s not the fact that they’re both in the movie business that’s kept these two together, rather that they’ve never married. Ironically, for two people who seem to have a committed relationship, they’ve never tied the knot. The couple has been together since 1983, after meeting again on the set of Swing Shift (they first met filming in 1968). They have one son together, Wyatt. Hawn is stepmother to Russell’s son, Boston, and has two children, Oliver and Kate, from her previous marriage to Bill Hudson.

Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick
This couple are not only in the same business, but have acted together in a number of movies, namely Pyrates, Murder in the First, and The Woodsman. The pair met in 1988, at which time Bacon said he was “hitting what considered to be the bottom.” Bacon and Sedgwick have two children, Travis and Sosie.

John Travolta and Kelly Preston
Hit by the tragic death of their son, Jett, aged 16, in 2009, Travolta and Preston continue to project a united front to the world. The couple married in 1991. As well as the son they recently lost, the couple has a daughter, Ella Bleu. Travolta once admitted that his relationship with Preston has benefited from professional counseling, a refreshing confession given that some Hollywood couples go to great lengths to prove otherwise.

Warren Beatty and Annette Bening
Marrying a movie star is one thing, marrying one with the reputation of being a professional womanizer is quite another. When the two met, Beatty was known for dating many of his female co-stars, including Madonna with whom he starred in d*ck Tracy. However, it appears that this couple may have met when Beatty was considering a more long-term relationship with his leading lady. The pair met when Beatty cast Bening in his 1991 movie Bugsy and married in 1992. They have four children.

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson
One of the factors you notice about couples that appear to have strong relationships, is that they’re rarely featured on the front pages of the National Enquirer: gossip columnists must hate them! That’s particularly true of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson who maintain a relatively low profile away from the movies. The two married in 1988, after romance developed when they worked on the movie Volunteers. They have two sons.
