It is only where I have gone that I know the way; It is only the experiences in my life that God has taken me through, and continues to daily take me through, that gives me a true knowledge of what this life is, because the end of this life is its relationships and the wealth does not depend upon “stuff,” it depends upon the riches of true (Heart and Soul) relationships, first with Jesus, and then with others.
Only the hard things in my life can make my soul great, and the cultivation of character by God through those relationships gives me the inner exercise that makes my soul grow closer to God; For
example, No body builder ever grew without resistance. There are many things that God allows in the clay of my life to shape my character for the better with a unique set of scratches and grooves. I believe that my character began to be shaped from the time before I was born and is influenced by where I grew up, how I was raised, the examples of my parents, (or lack of) religion, education, and so on. I believe that character can be drastically changed by a tragedy like a disease, a severe accident, or the death of a family member.
These things could have made me bitter or cynical, or could cause me to discover the heart of God and feelings of hope and compassion in my soul that is unimaginable. I also believe that one of the greatest influences on my character are the people that I surround myself with, but I think probably the number one greatest influence on my character is the thing that I have ultimate power over, and that is how I respond to circumstances! God gives me power as I draw from Him through the deep experiences in this life, and the tough times as I choose to stand on the feet of the HOLY SPIRIT and dance this dance with Him, as He gently holds me in His loving arms, instead of setting it out or running away.
