Wanted - chivalrous/modern, humorous/earnest, romantic/intellectual, who can occasionally believe in the highly unlikely. I'm looking for my best friend and lover rolled into one.
I occasionally sing and dance around the house and prefer romantic comedies, but we all have flaws. I am sometimes ambushed by shyness and loathe having my photo taken. Will watch sport for chocolate. Possibly. My health is my biggest challenge at the moment as I have chronic fatigue, and I'm building up a business at home to work around it.
I enjoy walking in picturesque places, dancing, reading by the fire, and good food, music, movies, conversation and friends. Surprisingly.
I like people who inspire thinking, and I enjoy learning and trying new things, although if you indulge in high risk activities such as swimming with sharks and jumping off high places suspended by an elastic band I will be standing by with camera/ shark repellent/ first aid kit.
My sense of humour includes the Goons, Red Dwarf and Jane Austen, and I'm in mourning because I've read every Terry Pratchett Discworld novel I can lay my hands on.

My two children have grown up and left home, and I’m looking for love and more conversation than the dogs provide. The cat talks to no-one. I'm interested in the possibilities of self-sufficiency and sustainable living. Dreams include: travel, building a better garden out of the unpromising clay currently surrounding the house, having enough shelving for my books...and finding the right man for an honest relationship of love, fun, constancy and passion (cue you!)
Friendship comes first though, and if that's where it stays then that's good too.

I'm not the only one who feels intimidated reading through a wish list...but it's about kindness, honesty, and faithfulness.
Integrity, and lots of sense is essential: common sense, sense of humour and sense of romance.
"Strong and communicative" beats "strong and silent" (in fact it jumps up and down on it, buries it and hides the evidence) and I appreciate being with people who are open, honest and direct... but can still think up tactful answers to that most dreaded of questions "Do I look okay in this?"
Kindness is vital, and I love people who are warm, generous-hearted and courageous.
Physically...I want to be in the arms of someone taller than I am. I know it shouldn't matter, but it does.
