I want to sit on a pensione verandah – sipping aperitifs with a cellist/artist/thinker - discussing Baudelaire and Beethoven while far below an accordion plays and from the street, vendors’ cries and children’s play mingle with a solo clarinet and it’s sunset over the Med.
In the morning we will explore the old town and sit in a taverna chatting to fishermen - read the papers for news of home, take a bus ride to nowhere in particular, haggle for curios. In the evening we would return and next day do it all over again.
