More About Me

I am warm, friendly, easy to get along with, humorous to most and caring to all. I stay mentally active with my architectural practice, crossword puzzles, cards and internet chess, and physically active playing tennis three or more times a week, cycling other times, and fast walking through the forests and around Manhattan as often as possible. I give back by having served in Amnesty International, helping preserve and restore my Town's historic buildings, supporting liberal causes and people in need, and sponsoring a young Masai lady's education in Kenya.

Background: a kid in Washington DC and Evanston, Illinois, a student of architecture under Mies van der Rohe and in post grad studies at MIT, Peace Corps Volunteer in Malaysia, building designer with one of Chicago's prominent firms before and after being a Fulbright Visiting Professor teaching at the University of Baghdad, founder of Chicago's first multi-racial architectural firm, founding dean of the first architecture and planning degree-granting programs in Malaysia, and principal of my own architectural firm since 1987. What a fun life. Moved to the area in 2008 so my late wife could be near her hometown of NYC which she was till 2012.

More About my Match

Bright, well-educated and well-read, able to enjoy my attempts at humor and give back with your own, having lived, traveled often or been raised overseas - a citizen of the world, active physically by hiking, biking, skiing, and best of all, playing tennis.

Having an understanding and appreciation of art and architecture; enjoying music, dance, and theater. Loving being in the City as often as possible.

Being passionate about what you do in all ways.

Occupation

As an architect I have too much fun to retire. I practice 3 days a week and usually spend weekends in NYC. The other days I look after my 1795 house and its 3 acres of gardens.
