I'm originally from New York City, but I've lived in California most of my life. Still, some people think I have an accent, which stuns me.
I'm fundamentally over educated, and i don't really make use of it, living on a small ranch with rescued horses, dogs, and cats. So far, the horses are simply expensive lawn ornaments.
My real love is books. I love to read them, and read them again. Although I love having a Kindle, its digital ease doesn't replace the pleasure I derive from the heft of a book, the thrill of entering a bookstore, the pleasure attendant on the first deep breath in an overcrowded and disorganized used bookstore.
I utterly loathe housework. I'd rather mow acres of thistle and dirt in a wind than do anything that resembles housework. I would rather clean up the yard after the dogs in 110 degree heat than do housework. Until I can't bear it any longer.
