When introducing me as a speaker a friend once described me as…. Irish, an Architect and that’s only two of his faults! ??
The others he left out probably include maddeningly enthusiastic, talks too much, spends too much time messing about with boats and puts his Christian Faith before everything else.

I was brought up in Northern Ireland, went to University in Scotland and stayed. The two are very similar and I love this part of the world. I am an architect and run a small practice where we do all sorts of interesting work ranging from new houses to the conservation of historic buildings. I can truly say I love my job.
I am interested in all sorts of things but my main hobby is sailing. Whenever I can I like to get out on the water. I have been very fortunate and have got to sail in some amazing places including Scandinavia. I love the outdoors generally and am never happier than when out walking (and talking). I’m particularly happy when I can combine my love of the outdoors and my love of travel. I have been blessed to be able to walk some famous routes including the Camino de Santiago in Spain and recently the Hungarian Pilgrim route.
Living in Scotland there are some wonderful places to visit and a perfect day out would include a visit to a nice coffee shop in one of these idyllic locations.
