I am a bit of a dreamer and hopeless romantic and I've never been one to "play the field." Unfortunately, I've always been a bit shy so I don't tend to pursue those who have caught my eye. Most of my relationships started with "her" asking me out. LOL Not the best quality I imagine, but it has worked. I haven't been in many or had a relationship that lasted less than a year and a half. And my last one was about 20 years. I guess we just grew apart, but we have a daughter we both cherish out of our time together. :) My life has been a bit turned upside down this past year. So I'm just trying to roll with the punches the best that I can and land on my feet. :) Losing a longtime partner effects many big parts in your life. Learning to deal with all your new found free time. Keeping a household up and running alone. And perhaps the hardest is having to look for new friendships. Those that have no ties to the past. That is a big part of how I found myself here. Now I guess I would just like to meet someone as friends and see how things go.
Maybe chat in IM, or talk like silly kids on the phone for hours on end getting to know each other before just jumping into the fire. I've always thought starting out as friends was a must for any relationship. And hey, if the fireworks aren't there... Well maybe we end up with a new friend.
