More About Me
Curious, down to earth, and sometimes funny. Equal parts academic, video game (and board game) nerd, outdoor adventurer, and cartoon watcher.
I like music (surprise) but some of the stuff I listen to people find odd; I'm trying to learn to play the piano, but hitting that "no talent" wall. So I listen in my car and roll the windows UP when people are around. :-)
Lots of newly-found free time clashes with some anxiety of going "out there" and meeting new people in person, but I try anyway.
Being fit is important to me, which is helped by my affinity for exercising and doing things outdoors. I don't play team sports, but I would love to have a partner to share some of my activities with. I am also an early riser, and (despite my mother's best advice) I like doing things that most people find odd—early morning hikes to catch the sunrise, etc. What's life without a little excitement? I even cross the street and only look ONE way!
I am a clean person, and orderliness is important to me. I don't think I exhibit any extremes in this regard, but I'm throwing it out there because many of the people I meet don't seem to be big fans of an organized life.
I should also mention that I am pretty well grounded, and that an attitude of "What can we build together?" is far more important to me than "What can I get?" when it comes to relationships. I love life, but life is a dispassionate arbiter and you either enjoy the challenges or you're looking for the lazy way through. I am in the former group, and one of the most valuable qualities I've seen in people is the desire to group up to overcome something, putting aside minor, unimportant stuff.
I'm fairly well read and traveled, and have a good amount of experience for my age to draw upon. I tend to gravitate towards more "wholesome" activities and interests in life, and "digested" pop culture and its likes are not usually high on my priority list.
More About my Match
Well, you are at least somewhat similar to me. Ideally, you are more focused on living than having, and are looking forward to discovering what else life has to offer. Affinity for the outdoors, a healthy lifestyle, and an inquisitive mind are all good points of parity.
I don't want to put too many things here, seeing how I'm not as focused on some constructed ideal as I am interested in making a connection with someone.
Occupation
I work for the University of Tennessee as an IT administrator.
