Amazing Photography

The photographs in this video draw out a lot of different emotions in me, with the exception of one photograph that looks quite "staged"... I would find it impossible to select a favourite.

All are fantastic images there but I wonder which one you think is staged, but I'd guess the one with the bike or maybe the final one??

Looking on their site, they have yet to announce the winners, but it is due imminently & thanks for sharing..

I never thought to look for the winner on the website... in case I did not agree with them!! They are all winners to some extent but the image of the naked form at 4.06 I think is obviously set up (super-imposed even) as it is not every day an image like that would just appear by chance!! At least not during the sub-zero temperatures we have been having!

I see what you mean and the photo is in fact posed, but as it probably comes under the category 'People' it is the story behind the image that makes it more powerful & moving.. you can find out more here:

While I also prefer natural shots I think NG allow entrants to interpret their own meaning/view for the criteria as long as its message is clear and maybe even a strong one..

I do remember a few years ago that a winner of the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year was stripped of their title after it came to light that the image was faked, even though they go through several stages of scrutiny to the final selection by the judges..

Have to get back in to the hobby on a more regular basis as I have the gear..

...as perfect a collection of pictures as ive ever seen...proof if it were needed that there is an artform in "finding the moment" as much as the composition of the shot...

Thanks Lard... the music is superb.... it adds something more to what is already near perfection!

Photography should be recognised as art... what I love about it the most is it allows people the opportunity to see something remarkable, captured as a moment in time, something they may not ever get the chance to see in their own lifetime.
