This has very special meaning for me:

Half of my adult life I have been ill with M.E., but the half before that I was travelling/working my way all around the UK for years.... I first heard this song several years ago, and from the outset, felt it was written about me, and all my travels! The cowboy boots and old 6-string would have? been my trusty rucksac and my beautiful hand-built racing bike

Always travelling from one place to the next, never having a place to call home, but loving it anyway...meeting new people, exploring new places, experiencing different cultures and traditions. Unless you've ever done that, then you probably won't understand, but I have a lifetime of memories from those travels that I can now call on whenever I want - wonderful

It's funny really, because all these years later, I STILL really appreciate sleeping in my own bed, washing my clothes in my very own washing machine, and cooking dinner in my very own oven! I love being settled now, and wouldn't "go on the road" again, but it really makes you appreciate the little things like that.
