Om Mani Padme Hum (Meditation Music)

Om mani padme hum: meaning: Om mani padme hum is the six syllabled mantra of the bodhisattva of compassion, Avalokiteshvara (in Tibetan: Chenrezig; in Chinese: Guanyin). The mantra is especially revered by the devotees of the Dalai Lama, as he is said to be an incarnation of Chenrezig or Avalokiteshvara.
It is commonly carved onto rocks and written on paper which is inserted into prayer wheels. The middle part of the mantra, mani padme, is often interpreted as “jewel in the lotus,”. “Jewel-Lotus” is an alternate epithet of the bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, so it is said mani padme may in reality be addressing Avalokitesvara.
Om mani padme hum in H.H. the 14th Dalai Lama’s words: “It is very good to recite the mantra Om mani padme hum, but while you are doing it, you should be thinking on its meaning, for the meaning of the six syllables is great and vast… The first, Om symbolizes the practitioner’s impure body, speech, and mind; it also symbolizes the pure exalted body, speech, and mind of a Buddha. The path is indicated by the next four syllables. Mani, meaning jewel, symbolizes the factors of method: (the) altruistic intention to become enlightened, compassion, and love. The two syllables, padme, meaning lotus, symbolize wisdom. Purity must be achieved by an indivisible unity of method and wisdom, symbolized by the final syllable hum, which indicates indivisibility. Thus the six syllables, om mani padme hum, mean that in dependence on the practice of a path which is an indivisible union of method and wisdom, you can transform your impure body, speech, and mind into the pure exalted body, speech, and mind of a Buddha“.

It is necessary to know how to use this chanting and not listening only.

is to find quiet place.
you have to chant this mantra with quite loud voice in order to cause resonance in your body.
here is chanting method in order to have benefits of risen energies

take a deep breath and with loud voice you start A...... for about 5 seconds, then you change to O.... again about 5 seconds, then you change to U.... again about 5 seconds, then last one is M.... the rest of breath, about 5 seconds.

If necessary you may adjust the length of each vowel + M...
for such period of intervals that you have enough of breath to finish eg. maybe 4 seconds each.

You have to chant minimum for 20 minutes in order to feel the difference, every time take deep breath after you finished all vowels and M... syllable.
That should give benefits and prove of positive effect on body once this mantra, in short AUM, is chanted.
Om Mani Padme Hum is singing, and is is only introduction to the chanting.
This mantra is basic start for beginners, the other singing and chanted mantras are using specific frequencies, and are for advanced
....Thats a lot to take on board....Thankyou for the insight...Are you a Bhuddist?...I think maybe the poster is too!
Its always interesting to learn new things.....thumbs up

Thankyou for insight...thumbs up wine

Yes, that is explanation of this mantra. however chanting of this whole mantra as Om Mani Padme Hum is slightly in a different way and described in may other response, the way of I have described and after practicing (even after first time) the benefits are real and quite strong. One may feel peace, energized and that may last maybe even for one hour and more if someone is able to extend by using visualization of specific pictures in mind, but that is for advanced. Let's start just as for beginners and later the advance system may be tried.

It seems only like that, after short try you will find quite easy and effortless for you will remember and follow automatically, and your body will adjust to to proper length of each vowel and syllable, just practice and you will find easy to do.

By the religious meaning I am not strict Buddhist per say, but I am anything and everything what is related to the spiritual approach to the higher existence which in turn has only one purpose to be peaceful, and understanding. That can be done by everyone who wishes so. We are all souls, but we have different point of views.

...Anything that brings Peace of Mind is worth practicing..

It's the same with Native American practices These systems are ancient and well tested....and effective...... thumbs up wine

Yes, the Native Americans has the same approach as other cultures from different parts of world, the only one thing is that some people do not understand fully yet the whole picture about it, and by mistake interpret sometimes in a different way. They need a little more time and help from others through education on this very simple way of life.

Yeah...The problem being it is too simplistic to be understood by many......Today's materialistic viewpoints clash in every way with ancient beliefs.....and the masses do not lead/nor want to lead a basic lifestyle......thumbs up wine

Agreed.thumbs up wave
